SENTIDO Mitsis Rinela Beach Resort and Spa, Heraklion

The hotel is nice but the appartments are very basic. We had to ask for a rubish bin, there is no tea and coffee facilities in the rooms, which if you have young children that need to go to bed early, you cannot just walk 10 minutes up and downstairs just to go and get a coffee. The pool needs a good clean out, was black scum all around the pool and i needed to replace alot of swimware due to that. The beds and frames need to be checked as ours had alot of springs coming out of the mattress and there was an open hole underneith instead of a frame, so every morning i woke by 4am due to very bad back and neck. The animation team were absolutly brilliant, always on the go and keeping everyone happy,plenty to do for everyone. Food is delicious, but the flies in the restaurant were very bad, nothing at all to prevent them going in the food.(Has been reported). If you have young children or cannot go up alot of stairs very well, u WILL need to ask for a ground floor room, as there are no lifts to the appartments.Be very aware of overbooking! Alot of overbooking when we were away, 2 bus loads had to be sent to another hotel. There are lots of excursions but ask if there are any hidden charges! Overall, we had a really good time.
