My disapointment at our stay at the Arlington
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 9/3/06
We visited the website of the arlington and thought that your hotel would be ideal to bring our parents for a relaxing first visit to Dublin. The website mentions irish dancing seven days a week and also offers a relaxing evening. What it does not mention is the night club atmosphere in the only bar in the hotel. After a pleasant evening in the temple bar we made our way back to the hotel, upon arrival, we had to que with people who were clearly very drunk. Once in we were absolutely apauled by what was going on. We had to dodge and weave our way into the hotel through drunks, loudmouths and broken glass. As we could not get into the bar because of the serious overcrowding, we eventually found a seat in the hotel lobby, the place we assumed was for residents of the hotel to relax and have a drink in peace. We sat down only to be abused, swore at and my father-in-law was even threatened. The staff obviously did not care for the welfare and comfort of the residents as all they seemed to care about was joining in with the drunken masses, we even watched one of your managers trying to chat up drunken girls rather than assist an elderly couple who were clearly struggling to get to the lifts. we eventually had to venture out to find somewhere that we could sit and relax and enjoy a drink with friendly people. When we checked out this morning my room keys were snatched out of my hands without even one word being spoken to me. what sort of hotel is it that can treat people like this. I have been travelling to and from ireland for a number of years and you are a long way off the the true irish hospitality you claim to offer. This hotel obviousley has no interest in the security and welfare of its residents and would strongly suggest you review your customer service.

Arlington Hotel
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 8/20/06
I was in the Arlington Hotel in October 2004 (the bank holiday weekend) one Saturday night for a few drinks with a friend when we were in Dublin for the weekend. The atmosphere was electric in the place. The young ladies in the place looked lovely. The talent was good. (what ever happened to Nicky from Eastbourne?). We didn't stay there that night but it was a great, friendly place. I was also there at New Year with the same friend and we stayed there. The staff were really friendly and they couldn't have done any more for you. It was great. It's well worth a visit.

WARM FRIENDLY PLACE TO STAY.
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 7/30/06
I stayed in Dublin with friends and family at the beginning of July, our Hotel was ok, but when we went to the Arlington we decided this was our next hotel when we came again, and sure enough 2 weeks later we were back, this time staying at the Arlington, The staff were good, the waiter we had on the evening was outstanding, (we tipped him well)The only thing I was dissapointed with was;- to have a good seat on the evening, and to watch the show, we had to have a set menu meal, which is fine, but not when you stay for more than 3 times , as there is only 3 choices of main meal, and when I dont like salmon, there was only chicken (which was lovely) and the steak in Guiness pie (which was wonderfull),and it was pricey , which I dont mind paying for as long as I enjoy the food, But variety is the spice of life and the Arlington is missing out on the evening, Mind you if you are only going for the one night meal and show you will not be dissapointed, I would have liked maybe a salad as an option or a ploughmans lunch. one other thing a better air conditioner would be advisable especially as we are now getting hotter weather. overall this has been one of the better hotels we have stayed in, and would use again, The lobby will look wonderfull when it is finished, I cant wait to go back and see. The shows were good and the dancing outstanding, well worth going to see.Infact you would have to pay to see this entertainment anywhere else. location of Hotel is just perfect.
