Great honeymoon
By Dóra, 9/20/08
We spent a week at El Mouradi Mahdia with my husband, actually it was our honeymoon. I never thought before a holiday could be so good but we both enjoyed or stay! The food and the service was allright, and the animation team is absolutely great! I couldn't stop smiling and laughing during the games and other interesting programmes. Especially I liked gym, aquagym, waterpolo, volleyball, darts and the belly dance course. We also had an Arab lesson with my husband. The evening shows were also wonderful, I really liked the Tunisian show and also the Cabaret night...The animation team did their best to cheer up everybody and join the activities, and they were all lovely and nice people, especially Bambi ( gym, aqua gym ), Zico ( waterpolo ) and Ahmed ( archery )... So it was a great holiday, we both would like to go back and stay there again, but then not just seven days...

This is great for the quiet holiday
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 3/12/08
From the outside, the hotel is imposing but inside, it is a little dated although v.clean. The bedrooms are huge and most of them have a balcony. The hotel is literally on the beach although at this time of the year (late Feb/early Mar), the water is very cold. The food in the hotel was nice although a little richer than what I am used to but it catered for both meat eaters and vegetarians and you could also have a traditional fire baked pizza along with crepes by the pool. The activities around the pool are weather pending & the evening entertainment team do the best they can with limited resources. The town of Mahdia is 5km away & a short ride by taxi. There seems to be a lot of building work going on in the town which does not make it an attractive place to visit at the moment with piles of rubbish/building material everywhere. All in all, this is a great place for a last minute break for someone who is not looking for all the touristy things to do, who wants to have a relaxing quiet holiday and top up their tan.

5* Not a Chance
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/18/07
I was very disappointed with the Hotel. The rooms were clean but smelt damp, the appliances were tatty or broken. The night club/cabaret acts were performed by the pool side entertainment staff and were so bad they were laughable. All the alcoholich (spirit) drinks were watered down, there was constant complaints at the bar. To top it off the food was also very sub standard and catered more for the eastern Europeans, boiled cabbage for breakfast! The A la Carte menu is not, it is a set menu with only a couple of options. I paid over £2000 for one week for four people to an aledged 5* Hotel. My advice go somewhere else!!

waste of money
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 9/13/07
This hotel is ranked as a 5 star in many brochures but was very dissapointing more like 1 star, room and hallway carpets were dirty and smelly and we wad to ware footware all the time wilst inside. Balcony doors wont lock, hotel maintenance couldnt be bothered to fix, sink plug holes broke, showers broke and had to leave balcony doors open in day to air room of smell. very poor night entertainment so boring it would send a glass eye to sleep. wouldnt recommend hotel or tunisia to anybody.

Great Value for the entire family
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 6/25/07
We have just arrived back from this holiday and would go again tomorrow. The animation team were fantastic. They made the entire family feel relaxed and welcomed. They work very long hours and every bit of effort is appreciated. They always spoke and the waiting staff were most helpful. The hotel was clean and tidy. We went on a busy week but the queues for food were no more than you would get in this country. We took our family and they aged from 22, 21, 20, 19 and 17. They thoroughly enjoyed the banter with the staff in particular the animation team. The swimming pool is one of he best I have ever seen. Very clean and sun loungers for everyone. A terrific wellbeing centre is a must to visit. Have a full body massage. They are brilliant and the turkish bath is a real treat. The family went quad biking, paragliding and banana boat riding in the sea.

Never Again!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 6/1/07
This is supposed to be a five star hotel but, in British terms, it would really struggle to achieve a 3 star rating. The reception staff are the rudest we've ever met, the queues for food and drink are very long, the hotel looks "tired" with peeling paintwork, threadbare carpets and the bedrooms, although large, are poorly furnished. On the positive side, the pool is absolutely lovely and the animation staff were fantastic. Evening entertainment is a bit amateur - run mostly by the animation team and the disco (not nightclub) plays mostly 70's music - BeeGees, Saturday Night Fever style. Outside the hotel complex, Mahdia is full of little shops and carpet sellers. Every tourist shop is virtually identical, and the guys outside will badger and nag you to look at their wares. Could be quite intimidating at times - bit like being in San Antonio or Playa de Las Americas, which was a real shame. We will never go back, and would deffinately recommend this as one to avoid.

Great Getaway from reality
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/17/06
Rooms were good not spectacular but what you would be expecting and clean. Beach was fantastic staff were great, especialy the entertainment team (Salem in particular) really gets you into all the sports activities. Overall the holiday was fab and 7 nights just wasnt enough we are going back to Tunisia in July 07 and cant wait!! Emma, Brighton.
