Never Again!

This is supposed to be a five star hotel but, in British terms, it would really struggle to achieve a 3 star rating. The reception staff are the rudest we've ever met, the queues for food and drink are very long, the hotel looks "tired" with peeling paintwork, threadbare carpets and the bedrooms, although large, are poorly furnished. On the positive side, the pool is absolutely lovely and the animation staff were fantastic. Evening entertainment is a bit amateur - run mostly by the animation team and the disco (not nightclub) plays mostly 70's music - BeeGees, Saturday Night Fever style.
Outside the hotel complex, Mahdia is full of little shops and carpet sellers. Every tourist shop is virtually identical, and the guys outside will badger and nag you to look at their wares. Could be quite intimidating at times - bit like being in San Antonio or Playa de Las Americas, which was a real shame.
We will never go back, and would deffinately recommend this as one to avoid.
