What a joke this stay was, the pictures give this hotel entirely too much credit. And the service, lets just say we ended up sacrificing the money already spent on the booking and hightailed it out of there after a nights stay. They would not even satisfy our request for a refund on the days not used even though satisfaction was not the look on our face. I would not stay here again even if it was free
The Sebel is situated on the corner of Charlotte and Albert Street just minutes from the heart of the CBD. Our apartment 2102 was located on the 20th floor and had views of the city skyline.
The apartment consisted of a lounge room with small couch and chairs, coffee table, and TV, which opened up to a small balcony, off the lounge room was a very well planned compact kitchen with a mini bar, stove, microwave and washing machine. The bedroom was normal hotel standard size with wardrobe and side tables. Coffee and tea facilities were available as well as broadband internet connection. The bathroom was on the small size.
The staff were very helpful and friendly, and allowed us to keep our bags stored at the hotel whilst we spent the weekend at Moreton Island, even though we were staying elsewhere on our return. (5 star for this gesture).
The outdoor swimming pool is located on the third floor next to the convention rooms, which is a slight put-off if just wanting to have a quick swim. The pool is a small lap pool with a spa connected, but overall it was lovely being able to sit outdoors by the pool.
I have stayed a numerous hotels and apartments in Brisbane and frankly, I do not think you can go past the Quay West Apartments for their views and location.
You have problems with heights then I suggest you get a room on a lower floor. I found it difficult standing on the small balcony vertigo plusthe other negative with our room was we looked directly onto another apartment block, and you could see everything happening next door. I had to keep our blinds closed in the bedroom for privacy. I suggest you ask for Charlotte Street CBD rooms.
Overall, this hotel is in a fab position if you just want to be close to CBD and shops. The staff actually makes you feel very welcomed and is a credit to this establishment.
I probably would not stay here again, as I prefer other hotels in Brisbane but if you were looking for an apartment then this hotel would suit you.
