Missing Shangrila Tanjung Aru

After being at the Shangrila Tanjung Aru and then coming here to Sutera Harbour, I must say that it was a bit of a dissapointment. I must say that you are paying more and getting much less. The place is lifeless comparatively and the service in the rooms is inconsistent. There are no electrical sockets where you might expect them and no hand bidets in the toilets. There was a dead plant in the toilet, probably not watered because the room had not been used in a while. Occupancy rates were low. Not what you would expect in a 5 star plus hotel. The buffet breakfast was not much to talk about, really 3 star fare, and the Hotel Customer relations manager was not responsive to requests, not even returning calls. We tried to cut short our stay here and return to the Shang but were greeted with a definite no to a refund. I felt hotel management could have been more compassionate as the resort really was deserted.
On the whole, would not recommend this resort.
