THE MOST DISGUSTING PLACE EVER !
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 06/09/09
Hello, We had the worst experience ever during our very short stay at the FILTHY, OLD AND DIRTY Calder House in Saskatoon. We still can’t believe that someone in 2009 would greet customers in such HORIBLE conditions. The innkeeper doesn’t clean the house and it really feels like it hasn’t been washed for ages! BE VERY CAREFUL: the innkeeper wants your money in advance because she knows that when you will get there, you will want to run away. The bathrooms are SO FILTHY… rusty sinks, old toilets that clog, dirty old baths (NO SHOWER) and dirty floors. BELIEVE ME, you do not want to wash your self there. We couldn’t even find SOAP in the house so nothing to wash your hands in the dirty old rusty sinks. We even found old food in one of our fridge. Every time I think about this place, I just makes me feel itchy. NEVER GO THERE, I WOULDN’T EVEN SEND MY WORST ENNEMY.

DO NOT STAY HERE
By crant, 01/05/09
The inn keeper demands cash up front, no credit cards debit etc. i think she does this,so she gets your money as much as you will want to leave. Not just dirty filthy- hairs in tub, dirty sticky sheets, bugs infesting the rooms, dirty old dishes, over all very unpleasant.Breakfest is the same meal everyday. The house is very cold as she is too cheap to heat it. Let me just say you have been warned!!

Had a good time here
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/28/08
We had no problems. Price was good, room was comfortable and spacious. TV, wireless etc. Not the most modern of places, but then it doesn't advertise itself that way. Our room, sheets, sinks were all clean. Well within walking distance of downtown (just across the bridge) - probably 10-15 mins. Nice restaurant area not too far on this side of the bridge. Had some good chats with the landlady. Gave us lots of information on the town and history of the house. A lot cheaper than the big hotels on the other side of the bridge - worked well for us at a conference.

JUST LIKE A MOVIE
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/10/07
I saw one of the rooms in this INN while watching a movie... The movie hardly did it justice! I am a fan of architecture and really admire this house.. It is just like staying in a castle. A place i'm sure my son would love to play hide and seek in as there are so many stair cases, and tonnes of rooms.. I was worried about getting lost in the house, but with everyone there being so friendly, you tend to feel right at home! Can't wait to go back and do more exploring!

I stay here often
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/23/07
I've been here several times and have never had any sort of bad service.. in fact I can't even imagine an honest bad review of this place.. Whoever said the innkeeper is posting their own reviews is sadly mistaken as i know one of them was posted by my husband.. Please give this place a try dispite whatever rubbish is posted here. There is no need for a personal vendetta.. it really is a beautiful place and you won't be sorry!

Do NOT Go Here!!!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/12/07
The other reviews written on this page were written by the innkeeper...this is a BAD place to stay! The bed was horrible; it had an ancient mattress which was both flat and lumpy. The heat in wintertime was suffoctating; the innkeeper was most uncooperative. It's a beautiful old house, but the accomodations are shabby and the service was NOT worth the price. DO NOT GO TO THIS PLACE IF YOU'RE EXPECTING COMFORT AND SMILING SERVICE.

just like home!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 01/25/07
Wow.. from the moment we arrived here we didn't feel like guests at all. It was so quiet unlike a hotel experience. Everything was relaxing and we had no problem concentrating on work for our conference. Nice to have internet available! With so many neat grocery items available so close by, itz no wonder that breakfast was so yummy. I would reccomend giving this one a try for yourself. Two very enthusiastic thumbs up!

Awful!!!!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 01/25/07
Bad service. Dirty. Innkeeper uncooperative. Bedding and bathroom unclean. Call Saskatoon Better Business Bureau for details. Call Saskatoon Chamber of Commerce and see if this place is on their recommended list.

this place is awesome!!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 01/24/07
I love it here! The innkeeper is so helpful and full of neat ideas to occupy our time! The location is second to none. A quiet street but still close enough to broadway and all ammenities! And the house... what a charming accomodation. It looks like something out of a romance novel!
