Great hotel for the value
I stayed at three different hotels on my Korat visit last month, all within the central Korat area (near The Mall shopping complex). Rachaphruk was the best value for my money. I paid for a single bed room with a decent sized bathroom (with bathtub) for a little over $40 dollars (U.S.) per night. You get a free breakfast coupon for each night stayed (which most hotels in Thailand do). There is a nice pool and a gym to work out in which is free to use; the gym is nothing spectacular but has a mix of machines and free weights, and several treadmills and bikes. There are two computers with internet in the lobby, and there is no charge to use it (just ask the lobby whenever you want to use it). The main lobby restaurant is open 24 hours a day and serves western style meals as well as Thai cuisine. A can't miss is the dim sum buffet served during lunch at the Chinese restaurant located next to the lobby. For a little over $5 U.S. per person I was served five plates of appetizers which were meals in themselves, along with six baskets of delicious dim sum treats. I have never had so much food for so little price in any place I've been to in Thailand; highly recommended.
