Torres Mazatlan Resort, El cid

We enjoyed our stay and liked the fact that it's a quiet place which seemed to attract young families and retirees which is great if you want a peaceful holiday, meaning no pounding music from a night club. Although it's a bit out of the way, everything is within reach via a cheap bus ride. The grounds are very well maintained, the one bedroom unit was bright and spacious with a beautiful view and a well equipped kitchen. There were plenty of lounge chairs and umbrellas available around the pools and there were numerous toys for the kids to use in their pool. The beach is great for walking and playing in the waves (which is not always possible though due to their large size sometimes and the undertow) and it's wonderful falling asleep to the sound of the surf. A variety of different activities for both adults and kids were available in case one wanted something else to do besides lay by the pool enjoying the heat of the sun while listening to the surf and sipping a cold drink. Since we had a small child with us, we appreciated the recent addition of televisions in the units as it got dark early. The staff was very helpful and friendly and the problem with our stubborn stove was dealt with very quickly. The only annoying thing was the presence of tiny ants on the kitchen counter, but it is a warm tropical climate after all .... we just made sure we were careful about food storage and kept it off the counter. We would certainly recommend the Torres to anyone who wants to avoid the constant hustle and bustle of the Zona Dorada, but is still willing to experience an interesting bus trip for the occasional sight seeing trip. This is a good place to unwind, relax and enjoy the surroundings. (including the local iguana who made a daily appearance on the rocks by the pool)

Torres is out of the way of the busy streets of the strip but still on the inexpensive bus line to take you there anytime you want. Not too big, not too small and the staff is very friendly. Rooms are comfortable and the only thing missing is T.V. but who needs that when you are on vacation.

This was my first time in Mazatlan and I stayed at the Torres with my best friend and her family who have a time share there. Falling asleep in an incredibly comfortable bed with the sound of the ocean coming in off the balcony was just what i needed to relax for 2 weeks! The employees greeted us all by name every time they saw us! The location was close enough to the main strip, but you did have to take a bus or taxi there which is cheap, but can add up quickly. I strongly recommend Senor Frogs after 11pm! Look for the guy with the whistle and a bottle of tequila in his pocket and raise your hand!

The location was perfect. Right on the beach and for 80 pesos, you can take a bus right into town. The staff are incredibly friendly and will go out of their way to make sure you are comfortable. The rooms were more than big enough and it has a full kitchen. You don't have to worry about the water, everything is filtered in the resort. There's a lifeguard on duty for the beach, and even after that lifeguard goes home, the security people for the resort patrol the beach to keep you safe. I visited with my sister who owns a timeshare. I loved it so much I bought into the timeshare JUST so I can come back to the Torres! It has WiFi throughout the resort, but also internet that you can buy at the front desk. The bar closes at 10 oclock, so don't plan on partying here late into the night.

we have been going to Torres Mazatlan for 15 yrs. In Mexico I would not go anywhere else. We drive down to Mazatlan every year and stay at Torres.The Bus stops right in front of the resort, and is very convieniet. The Palapa Bar and restaurant rate 5 stars. The oersonel is outstanding From the front desk to the cleaning ladies and gardners. You should know that Torres is privatly owned and operated out off bellevue Wash. So if you get to stay there enjoy it and take care off it. Gerarda
