The hotel is stituated on the main London road, which allows for good travel to numerous places.
The hotel provides:
Good car parking
Fully stocked bar
Good bar food
You can have a room in the main hotel or one of the cabins which are set to the side of the main building. I have stayed in both and personally I prefer the main hotel room. They both had bath/shower area with wash basin and WC, had television, kettle a great selection of hot drinks sweetners and milk with a few sweet biscuits to dunk too.. oww yes they were wonderful with the chocolate! Hair dryer but in cabin I had to look in the draw for this. The only difference being that in my cabin the wash sink was in an area to the out side of the bathroom (I presume this was due to space) however I found both visits to have good sized sleeping areas complete with mirrored dressing table, chairs and heating.
So what's close?
Windsor great for days out! Lego land, the royal castle, picnic by the river thames but the swans ducks etc do like to join you! There's a veriety of shops, services and bars or just 'people watch' by sitting on the benches that line the castles hill.. the world seems to walk by.
If your a race goer then this is an ideal hotel, but be warned Royal Ascot week your unlikely to get a room if you didn't book and bookings go fast so book real early. The hotel is close enough to the race course to be walked, cars are a nightmare Royal week so forget it, put trainers on and walk it Fancy shoes in a carrier ladies! you'll thank me at the end of the day sitting with your cool drink in the hotel bar instead of sitting in a cool bowl of salt water to sooth sore feet. My stay cost approx 85 per night for a double (sept 2005) inside room, not sure about cabin didn't pay.
Lovely old building set a little back from the road with great bar garden at front to watch the traffic but not as much noise as you'd think at night.
To stay at the Royal Over Seas League, Edinburgh, is to enjoy some of the most unique views Scotland??s capital

*The Royal Hotel is situated in the centre of the town of Thurso, a ideal location for leisure and for
business. A great base for visiting the castle of Mey and of course Thurso is the gateway to Orkney. ...
