we had a great time staying at this small friendly hotel by the lagoon.the rooms were marbled, clean and had a balcony overlooking pool and river. the food was not outstanding but more than adequet, and we ate in mostly, and effort was made to add variety of dishes.as was all inclusive we did not take cash out often, much to the dissapointment of the main pool barman, who always seemed on the cadge for a tip, which you do not expect on an all inclusive hol, except at discretion at the end of the holiday. sunbeds by the pool were plentyful, but they desperately need some soft covers on,as towels on hard plastic were really uncomfortable.also need some more brollys.entertainment staff were great, and very hard working by day or night, organising pool games and nights out.each room should have a hairdryer too, although they had a couple behind reception, you were not guarenteed one and i think these are essential room requirements. we got cheesed off with drinking from plastic beakers with slight hint of pina colada taste to the occasional beer so we requested a glass in the evening.the staff were pleasant and helpful overall and the food on the mexican evening was far better than other nights,i would have liked to have seen more local quisiene, rather than the ,please the tourists ,type of food.anyway, overall we enjoyed this holiday, even though my husband cracked his ribs on stage dressed as a mexican, this did not taint our holiday. we would recommend cancun as a good, safe place to go to, and although not the ritz,i rather liked this quaint little hotel and think it was made nicer by the lovely people we met out there.a funny story, i treated myself to a pedicure there and the lady said i reminded her of a famous actor....fab i think, until she came out with jon claud van damne! !well, that was the funniest thing all holiday and we had loads of laughs there.
