Hôtel Marie-Rollet, Quebec City

We had originally picked this establishment due to the good rating it received on the internet. We reserved an apartment for 4 nights .Our e-mail confirmation instructed us to check in at the apartments 9 Haldimand Court between 10:00 am and 6 pm. The door was locked and there was no one around to answer questions. Also the road in front of the apartment was being torn up. It was closed to traffic due to major construction. The parking garage that we were told to use was closed due to the construction. The map provided by Marie Rollet of the immediate area was inaccurate. It is difficult to find the hotel and a place to park, even with flashers on we were cautioned by shop owners we might be ticketed/towed. Beware of their cancellation policy 15 days before arrival. Keep in mind any changes that shorten your reservation will result in a cost of a night�s stay. For US citizens traveling to Canada please be aware of the exchange rate in currency. The exchange rate was one American dollar for one dollar and eight cents Canadian money. Gasoline was $1.50 more a gallon in Canada than in the US. Groceries like milk, eggs, cereals, meat ranged from 2-4 times the price you would pay in the US.
