El Hana Palace Hotel, Port El Kantaoui

Stay away from this Hotel if you like the loud life, if you are flashy, if you have a drink problem and especialy if you think they should serve british food in all foreign hotels. This is not for you. However if you like a bit of old world class, pleasent surprises, beautiful gardens, plenty of local food choice amidst the varied buffet meals, large rooms, peace and quiet if you want it and have the ability to converse about a range of topics [other than the latest mobile phone or eastenders] with people from different parts of the world then this is the place for you. Great staff and a hot jacuzi will leave you with a warm feeling all over. We want to go back, so will you.

the hotel was very nice didnt think the in door pool was safe for the elderly food was very good. good vaule for money ,very friendly people.

The staff (mainly) were warm and obliging, the food was good and plentiful. The bedrooms had good heating but the bathrooms were all marble and freezing cold. The bath(designed for 2) was 1 very deep and 1 shallower step up and 1 large step down into it. The shower spray could be used seperately or on a hook on the wall however the shower curtain was totally useless and a shower flooded the bathroom floor. We had to use our towels to mop it up so we would not slip. During the first night we felt something fall on us and found 2 cockroaches on the floor in the morning - Urgh!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It was fobidden to bring in food or drink purchased elsewhere and some of our fellow guests had their bags searched for contraband - is this legal? The public sitting areas i.e. the foyer and the bar were freezing cold and we all had to wear jackets, coats or thick stoles to keep warm. There was a great singer who entertained us in the bar but he was very loud and conversation could be difficult. All in all it was faded glory but good value in general.

My husband and i went to the hotel for our honeymoon, simply because the hotel was for over 18's! no children! it made our holiday much more enjoyable. the beach was outstanding, our room was cleaned every day, we had fresh towels and the room was huge! it is only a short walk away from the marina, which was good as you would walk off the mound of food they had on offer before you left. ok, there is not alot to do at this hotel, but my god, your holiday would be so relaxing! and the staff are out of this world. I WOULD DEFINATELY GIVE IT 5 STARS ANYTIME.

the hotel is clean but needs a good lick of paint and the bedrooms need an update and again a lick of paint the food was not that good same as each night and if u are looking for a beach forget it there is very littel but not all bad the staff are nice i would say this hotel is if u need a good restfull holiday the el hana would be great but u need to be 60 plus to like this hotel

The position is utterly fantastic, far enough away from the port to enjoy a good walk along the beach, watersport activities within easy reach, staff are incredibly friendly , excellent range of food and the restaurant staff are quite simply superb, on the day we left they put rose petals in the shape of a heart on our restaurant and gave us one of our best holidays ever. Blindingly good pool and superbly quiet. Absolutely first class. Simple rooms but big bath and great views out to sea. Brilliant value.

staff were most helpful and friendly. food excellent. location perfect. beach right on door step.rooms cleaned every day. small indoor pool and large outdoor pool.highly recommended.

We found the Hotel excellent in most aspects. The rooms were very spacious but perhaps could do with a bit of updating (the hotel is 13 years old). The maid cleaned every day with new bedding and towels. Staff were very polite and friendly. Although the hotel seemed busy, you never felt overwhelmed with other guests. There was a large reception/lounge and other areas to sit quietly and relax. A large very nice pool area very close to the sea, although the beach itself is limited and rather dirty. The food was varied, plentiful and very good. Although the entertainment was a bit limited at night, there was a cheery atmosphere in the bar area. Good for the over thirties and onwards.

Found the hotel to be grubby and outdated. We were a group of eight golfers. All of us thought we would never get out of there.
