Scam

The hotel is in a very good location by the sea, and the restaurant/garden area is ok, but not high standard.
The restaurant serves a good Tandoory chicken, but the rest is of a very low standard, including even the overcooked rice, the mushy deepfried sweet and sour chicken and their own private version of something they actually call pizza.
I had a very bad experience there as I lost some money out of my wallet in my room...it was in a compartment inside another compartment in my bag.
I am aware that this is partially my fault for not locking up my valuables in the safe, but still I didnt expect this at Mkonge. (and this is with NO doubt from there it happened as i have solid proof.)
The management decided to invent a story that I was bringing prostitutes to my room and for this reason they were not to blame.
The true story is that I asked for a spa or maybe just a massage in the hotel, and the kind receptionist assured that he could provide this for me.
I even specified that I did NOT want anything else than a back massage and he understood clearly, but anyway a woman showed up 3 hours later in spite of the agreement of half an hour. and she did not bring any massage oils or any lotion for that matter. So I informed her of my problem and she actually offered to go home and get some massage oil, and reluctantly I agreed.
Good massage actually, but difficult for her to understand that it was not more than this.
I can NOT recommend this overpriced hotel, and furthermore if you go anyway, then before you check in, ask to see all available rooms to ensure you have waterpressure for shower.
There are so many other good priced hotels, and for a small price you can always go and use the pool at Mkonge if you need more than all the beaches in the area.
