I hope someone burns this place down
I stayed at the Hotel Armon Yam, and it would be kind to describe this place as a HOSTEL!
I went on a tour of Israel, and we got booked into this hotel for the first day of our tour. I had previously gone to the web to see pictures of this hotel. The rooms do not look at all like the pictures. The place is a dump. The beds have worn and dirty linens and blankets.
Many of the web sites that list this hotel, say it is newly renovated. If this place is renovated, they must have reverse renovated it from a nice place into a dump.
The bathrooms were filthy, the tub had hair, and dirt on it. Clearly the cleaning staff have no idea how to clean.
Plumbing was dirty, and there was virtually no toilet paper. We actually had to go to a nearby store to buy our own.
The beds, and bathrooms had broken pieces off of the surfaces.
Top that off with the fact that the door into the room had previously been broken into by someone using a crowbar, and you could push it open with your shoulder.
If you like filth, this is your kind of place. We actually pulled off the sheets, and chacked the beds for bugs. We didn't find any, but we expected to.
You should know that we were among a group of 59 other travellers, and we were supposed to be booked into this place for two periods, one day at the beginning of our tour, and one day at the end. Our tour operator got an earful from all of the travellers, and booked us into another hotel for the second stay that was planned for this area.
This hotel is one that in Canada would be rented out by the hour.
To summarize, you should not believe that this place was ever renovated, nor are the photos in any way showing what the place is really like. It's a dump by western standards. Frankly, I doubt you could find a hotel this bad, anywhere in North Americas, not even in the bad districts, where hookers abound.
