Exclusive Hotel Prado, Ostend

Although first impressions of the reception area appear sparse and not so cosy as perhaps we would normally like, don't let that put you off. The hotel staff are extremely pleasant and more than helpful, the hotel is spotlessly clean, the rooms well appointed and spacious, and the beds extremely comfortable. There is a lift to all floors, with a bar area on floor 1, we did not visit this area as is seemed a little remote. Breakfast is superb with a buffet style hot and cold selection to suit all tastes. The hotel is well located for shopping and the harbour area is only a short walk with Taxi's, Trams and Buses situated just across the road, the trams we know for sure take you northbound all along the coast, to De-Haan, Knock and pretty much the Dutch Border. Secure underground car parking is available through The Hotel at 10 euro's per 24hrs which is a must as the traffic wardens dish out tickets at 27 euro's a time without warning. The Hotel did not offer evening meals as an option during our stay, and it's well worth checking restaurant prices before booking as they are not cheap, we did manage to find some very nice places to eat with 3 course meal deals starting at 12.50 - 18.00 euro's per person, some just slightly in the side streets as you would expect, but there were a couple of good ones in the main square just a few minutes walk away. Spent four nights at this modern,spacious and spotless hotel with helpful and courteous staff. First class continental breakfast - good range and quantity. Overlooks a pleasant square and close to buses, trams and taxis. Car parking available through hotel - 8 Euros per day, underground and near by.
