Fantastic individual eclectic style - all rooms different, most are suites, and a private drawing room for guests with honesty bar, great when the bar and restaurant are busy, or to have an informal meeting. Great bathrooms with rainhead showers, and local boutique toiletries - and gorgeous velvet bathrobes. Free wireless broad-band and local calls are a bonus, as is the continental breakfast which is included in the room rate. Flat screen TV's, tivoli radios and i-pod docks in all rooms. A wonderful restaurant "Kitchen", with a modern NZ menu featuring fresh local ingredients is located in a glass roofed atrium, with water feature, fireplace and art created by local artists from materials salvaged during the restoration. The beautifully restored sophisticated house bar spills into a rustic covered courtyard, and is presided over by a great barman and his creative cocktail list. Great location in the CBD is perfect for business, but it is also in the midst of the fashion area so great for shopping and eating out. Staff are all very friendly, not too formal, and do their best to make you feel at home - i wish the service was that good in my home! Nothing is ever a problem at Hotel DeBrett.
