whilst admit that this isnt the most luxurious hotel in halab, beats all the others with charm. rooms are clean and airy. plumbing is best used off peak hours. have stayed in many state run establishments and there is nothing that compares to coming back to the baron after a long day, owner and staff are nonintrusive and treat you as family. as the saying goes, 'whether for an hour or a week, youre always a guest at the baron'. If the candlestick phones, vintage travel posters, and hemingwayesque lobby doesnt win you over, maybe the fact that sharing a beer with lawrence's ghost will. place really is untouched by modern tourism(thank god) and is a time capsule / remnant of orient express glory...hope it never changes!
This wonderful hotel has so much charm as well as alot of history. My stay here was quite comfortable. The staff goes out of their way to make you feel at home. The owner treats you like family! The food is very delicious also. Will stay here again!
