Debret Hotel, Rio de Janeiro

This hotel was is terrible. I had an awful experience. The rooms are cheap and noisy. You can here people in the halls and they can here you easily. The walls are very thin. Air conditioning sucks! When I booked my room, I had one request: a room with great A/C. Instead, I got a room with NO A/C. When I informed them, they were extremely rude. I had the feeling this happened all the time. I asked them to switch my room but there was none available except for nicer rooms. I asked them to upgrade me: they said they could not if I did not pay the difference so I asked them to give me my money back so that I can switch hotels and they denied me. I was really pissed because they should either upgrade me or return my money. Without exaggeration, it felt like a hot, steamy bathroom in my room. Later that night, I asked them to upgrade me again because it was clear that nobody was going to fill the empty rooms past 11pm, they still said they could not. I had to "sleep" extremely uncomfortable that night. Needless to say, I checked out first thing in the morning. Do not waste your time and money!!!!
