Waldorf Hotel, Buenos Aires City

The location of this hotel is excellent. It is 2 blocks from Florida Street, 4 blocks from a shopping mall, close to many restaurants. Maid service is outstanding. However, the front desk and doorman of the graveyard shift are lax on security. At 4:00am, my wife and I checked out and waited in the lobby for our transfer (car and tour guide) to the airport. A car and driver arrived and the front desk and doorman suggested and insisted that we take that car to the airport. I asked the driver for the name of the party that he was picking up. He replied with 'No hablo ingles'. When I asked the doorman to translate for me, he claimed that he does not speak english although previously he had spoken with me in english. Then, I asked the front desk to translate for me. He also lost his english skills. When I refused to take that car, unless the driver specifically has my name, the front desk spoke to the driver in spanish and provided my name. Fortunately, my tour guide with her car and driver showed up.
