Kawama Hotel, Varadero

I Liked mainly the attention I received from the hotel's worker. I was really depressed when I visited and it was may medicine. I Did not like that I had just a little of time but it was not the hotel's fault.

This was a terrible hotel! The absolute worst all inclusive I've ever been to. The front desk staff were rude and the food was beyond horrible! The nicest people at the hotel were the people who helped with your bags. My advice - stay somewhere else!

Amazing staff and great beach location. Close to all the downtown markets and the bank is only meters away. The price is right and you definatly get what you pay for. The three A la Carte restaurants are AMAZING but the buffet and other food was awful. I would definatly go back again considering the amazing location and out-standing staff!

My wife and I will be going to Kawama for the fifth time this January. We stayed at Brisas our second year. We find the location and value for the dollar superior at Kawama. After you have been there once you can get a room upgrade, complimentary bottle of rum, lobster dinner and easier bookings at the a la carte restaurants. Go to the hotel web site kawamahotel.cu and click on the upper left and you'll find these extras. All the reviews indicate lack of spices and seasonings on the resort food but the downtown restaurants do a much better job. Take your own seansonings and salad dressing. Save a little boiled egg, cheese and onion from breakfast, put it in your room fridge and dress up your lunch and dinner salads. Being old the rooms frequently have a musty smell. Take a couple air fresheners. Take a few hats, t-shirts and other gifts as tips. I left my umbrella there last year which I took with me as a cane substitute and umbrella. It was greatly appreciated. Take insulated drink cups as the cups they give you don't hold very much. I also will sometimes fill up one of them with vanilla ice cream at lunch and add it to their pina coladas later in the afternoon. If you book through one of the last minute web travel sites you can get a comparatively low price for what you get at Kawama compared to the other two Varadero hotels we've stayed at. They get a LOT of repeat customers who have learned the ropes.

Very dark,moldy,dirty room. cold water bathroom was dirty. I would rate this resort as a 2 star . Food was terrible sardines for breakfast ,lunch ,and dinner for 3 days.I love sardines but this is too much. Had to pay deposit for towel and couldn't get clean towels for the 7 days stay. I will not go back and will tell all my friends not to go also. been to Cuba many times never experienced anything like this before.

I hear people complain about the food, etc. You aren't at a 5 star hotel people get real. The staff was fabulous and friendly ALL the time. The food was of local region and fresh with no preservatives...you want a hamburger stay at home. It is the oldest resort in Veradero which should let you know its not going to be all new ...duh. It had the most character of all the other resorts and I found it to be charming. You want more zip in your meal...bring your own condiments. I found the food great!!! Also we got fresh towels everyday so why someone said they had to pay for them or didn't get any is beyond me....mabey it pays to be friendly and leave a special gift of paper, etc.

what I like on this hotel ? everything was fine and great, food excelent... except that fact that many times there was problem with electric when it was raining.
