Ramada Limited Galveston, Galveston

I stayed here with my family and it was the dirtiest hotel I have ever been to in my life. The rooms were hot, smelled really bad, and the carpet was so dirty with stains. My socks were black after walking around for 1 hour trying to clean the room in order to get ready to go to bed. Also breakfast was a joke, the breakfast room has no a/c, it was so hot in there. It was really bad.

Love Galveston, but hated this Ramada! Thought I could count on the Ramada to give me a clean room and good service...WRONG! The walls and rug were filthy. The shower was moldy and the dust was deep! I left my room at 11:30 am and stayed gone visiting the sights most of the day. I returned tired at around 10:30 pm only to find my room exactly like I left it. The bed had not been made and I had no clean towels etc. When reported the problem to the manager, He proceeded to tell me it was my fault for not calling down to the desk to request service ! Instead of trying to compensate for my trouble, he only wanted to know if I would be staying another night or checking out. Angered by his attitude, I requested he come up to my room and look at it's condition. He refused. His quote was "we can agree to disagree". I did. I checked out!

This stinking hotel charged my card before we even checked in! When I made the reservations for two seperate rooms they said we could pay cash when we got there. Well it was too late they had already charged me. The rooms are very small & nasty. We had to change rooms in the middle of then night because the hotel is not maintained and the sliding glass doors whistle,and the air conditioner hardly worked. The staff was not very helpful. The Continental Breakfast was a joke. Do not stay here it will ruin your vacation!

We had 15 rooms reserved for months, we were given a group rate for each room. I was assured I did not need a contract since I was dealing with the manager directly. When some of our group checked in they could not settle in right away because the rooms were dirty, the sheets had to be rechanged. It was unpleasant from the beginning. Checking out most of our group did not get the discount rate that was promised, when I brought it to the managers attnetion she said to bad and refused to give us what was promised from start. I told her we would not be back next year. She hung up on me. So be careful if you are promised a group rate. Get it in writing!!! You might want to get there early to make sure the room is clean as well.

We were there for four days and were very impressed. The room was nice and clean, had a balcony with a view of the beach, very affordable price and convenient to restaurants, shopping and the beach.

I have stayed at this hotel on numerous occasions and all I can say is the people there are very friendly and you get really clean rooms. You have great access to the ocean. We are planning on going back for this holiday weekend and would recommend this hotel to everyone! =)

This place should be renovated as soon as possible. The price they charge is outrageous for what you get. The room where we stayed was old, walls were brown from dirt, carpet was filthy. We got a nonsmoking room, but there was a hole on a bed comforter, which looked like from cigarette. The elevator was really slow and smelled bad. The only good thing I can tell about this hotel, the breakfast was good. Other than that, please save your money and stay in other place!

This Ramada had the rudest staff I have ever met. The baths were dirty,and the hall ways smelled bad. The beds were like rocks and the pool area was filthy.Simply can't believe this place for the price.We booked for two nights and they charged more for the second night when we booked for 130.00 per night.

The day we checked in there was a barking dog in the room next to ours. The door would not always close, and everytime we left the room we had to go to the desk to get another key because ours wouldn't work. The lady that worked the desk was often rude and had a terrible atitude toward the guest. The door to the parking area was impossible to open. The lock stuck. If it did open good luck on closing it again. The only door that seemed to work right was the one to the adjoining room. This would have been nice if we had been using both rooms but we weren't. There was no clock, phone directory or remote control for the television in the room. Something on the wall that stayed there the whole time we were there. Getting extra towels was impossible. None of the maids that we had dealings with spoke any English. The location of the hotel is ideal for the beach, shopping and restaurants but the service and rooms leave much to be desired. We will pay more and stay elsewhere from now on.

The good: Was on the Galveston Seawall Rd Had little balcony with partial view of the gulf. Had new heater/ac which was efficient and easy to use. The Bad: The door to the balcony was screwed closed and would not open. The internet ad said it had a jacuzzi but it did not. Was pricey for the time of year and lack of amenities-ie no jacuzzi-might just as well have gone to Motel 6 and saved $30 Only swimming pool outside and unheated. No internet connections.
