Excellent Stay in Dallas
By AJ Blastos, 8/10/08
Very pleased with the Warwick in Dallas. Lovely foyer and public rooms. The Library bar is not to be missed, nor is breakfast in the restaurant. The staff is very accommodating and attentive, without being intrusive. Our room was fresh, clean, very comfortable. The bathroom was large. I absolutely will stay at the Warwick again when I am next in Dallas.

would never go back
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 5/8/08
The rooms were old and filthy; I checked out next morning and did not get my money back for early checkout. Would never recommend it to anybody!

Very Nice, Except The Bed
By Kruczek Family, 1/24/08
I loved the idea of staying at the Melrose, as it is a tasteful luxury hotel right in the middle of Dallas. The room was very spacious, the marble bathroom gorgeous, but the bed... yes, the bed was TERRIBLE. It sunk on the sides and my husband and I either rolled off the edges, or inward towards each other. I'm not sure if this is the same for all rooms or just ours, but we were very disappointed. Luckily it was just one night or we would have complained. The price is quite high for such a cruddy bed.

Okay, but won't come back.
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 7/9/07
The front desk associates and valet were quite smirky when I checked in. They made me feel very uncomfortable about staying there. The service from the wait staff and room service was wonderful though. I thought the rooms were extremely outdated, I was expecting something very elegant like the Four Seasons, not my Grandmothers house. The only real thing that ruined my trip was the management, I did have some problems during my stay and NO ONE from the hotel will respond to me at all. Very disappointing.

Nice place
By Love99, 1/14/07
I've stayed here twice, both times because there were big events in the area and I wanted to be able to just walk to and from my hotel. It is nice and clean, though sometimes seems a little overpriced. The staff is always very helpful and the rooms are very comfy!

Ain't all that !
By Reagan, 10/25/06
This hotel places itself way up on the list of nice hotels but it's seriously lacking. Yes, it's a nice hotel in a superb location but there are many other hotels that are better for the money. At a rate of over $200. per night for a king room here's what you do NOT get. Free internet, wireless internet, upgraded/pillowtop mattress, high thread count sheets, quality pillows, clean drinking glasses, updated room decor, carpet, television, telephone, etc. Again, older, nice hotel in a great location but NOT worth the price compared to other upscale hotels. They want to be something they are not. Parking is expensive as well. By the time you pay the $209 per night, $17. parking $11. per day internet (wired high speed) and tip $3.00 for your car a couple of times.. add the tax and you are at close to $300. a night for an outdated room with thin sheets and foam pillows. Staff is plenty nice and very pleasant until you have any complaint at all and then they get snooty and defensive. I will stay there again because of the location but it would be nice if they could do some upgrades and include some amenities to make the experience worth the price.

Lavish Experience but Questionable Charges
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 9/26/06
It was overall an excellent hotel although after checking my credit card statement and comparing it to the statement the hotel left for me at check out there was a $30 difference on the invoice they provided me with and the charge on my card was $30 more.

Fantastic architecture, OK service
By ..., 8/27/06
If your looking for a place with character and elegance this hotel should more than suffice! Visually its fantastic! The location is fantastic, its view of Dallas impressive! We took a corner room for the evening, loved the linens and bathroom! Just like home!! This was everything one would expect in a 5 start hotel........well almost everything. The hotel's staff was wonderful, however their front desk people left a great deal to be desired. We spent 199.00, I had expected it to be the 280+ the Internet advertised but it seems we came on their reduced days, ate at the bar (food in the bar should be avoided at all costs!), then the Landmark restaurant (wonderful!). On the front desk; If you don't mind the overpaid staff too busy conversing with one another to attempt to assist you with cab or limo service then this is your place. Unfortunately the front desk makes this 4 star feel more like a 2 star. Set everything you intend to do up well before coming, expect to specify what transport service you wish to have, expect to be ignored. I enjoyed my stay but given what I spent for the evening, mostly because it was my husbands birthday and I too wanted to have fun rather than scrutinize the details.............If you want to stay in a hotel that takes care of you, this isn't it. If you want to enjoy the sites, hit the clubs and marvel at fantastic architecture all within walking distance..........this is a great spot! Don't expect service from the Melrose front desk and you wont be disappointed.
