The Greenhouse Spa, Arlington

Hardly any fitness classes. The estaticians want you to add on everything.No way the meals wre 1200 calories a day. Actually the only thinkg going for the Greenhouse is it's past reputation, it was a huge dissapointment!

Disappointing. Deserted. Depressing. The regulars were even saying that The Greenhouse has really gone downhill and management has a "we really don't care attitude." There are much better spas out there...The Sanctuary, Miraval, Elizabeth Arden Red Door, etc.

They should name it The Ghosthouse. Hardly any guests, sparse staff and management....very empty feeling not intimate. A couple of fitness classes but nothing close to the list on the website. The room was big and quite lovely but the tvs were old and small and one did not work and no wireless internet and the windows do not open. The food was good but not 1200 calories per day as promised. A few of the regulars said that the food was not up to par...I did like the salads. No evening entertainment. The pool heater was broken during my entire stay...the parts were on order. Add on services were done to my facial without being told of the price...I thought they were customizing my facial. There were schedule change issues. The gift shop was always closed and when asked that it be opened and wanted to shop, they did not know the prices. Tried to buy moisturizer and other facial products but they did not have any...they just placed an order. Tried to buy makeup and they did not have even one item I wanted...they had just placed and order...why offer a make up consult if you don't have the makeup. The Greenhouse has a great history but will fast loose it supposed great reputation if does not solve the numerous issues that I encountered during a mere three day package. It is either being totally mismanaged or thye have just given up and it is going out of business and they are not telling us! When I raised my issues to management they were not very understanding, quite cold and just explained away everything.

In my mother's day this was supposedly a great place. Now it is a run-down, pieced together mess. I'm sure the remodeling (quite a lucky fire they had) will help, but it will never compare to Canyon Ranch or even Austin Spa. The employees are very nice an accommodating, but the management is poor and very unprofessional.

It puts a question in my mind about why the usual first rate attention to customers is not being continued even if they are closed for a few weeks. It would be polite to respond to calls and email inquiry.

I emailed The Greenhouse yesterday to plan my visit. I received a reply this morning that said they were closed for a few weeks during the summer months. I couldn't post this information without rating the place. Since I haven't been here yet, I based my ratings on the other reviews and the price I've been quoted.

I have just learned that the Greenhouse has closed it's doors!! What a shock...I can't tell you how many wonderful trips my sister-in-law, nieces, my daughters, and I have had over the years. Our great friends that were always there each year to help us(eat great food, workout, laugh,tuck ins!) as we returned for "our special time"...so sad. I hope they will reopen so we can all enjoy coming back!!!

After almost 10 years, I returned to The Greenhouse and it was just as wonderful as I remembered. The staff was wonderful and the services were amazing. I can't wait to go back! I will definately be making this a yearly ritual.

I came to THEGREENHOUSE to give myself a special treat. I left knowing I did just that. The whole experience was perfect. If you have never been, you have to go at least once. Trust me, you will not be sorry.
