Clarion Inn Near Baylor University, Waco

I thought my room was nice and clean. The bathroom was nice and clean. Overall i was pleased with my room especially since it was right off the highway. The indoor pool was nice as well.

People at the front desk were very nice. Had no problems except the pictures we saw of the hotel didn't look like the hotel we stayed at. I expected it to be a lot nicer. Everything else was fine. It was very clean just not what we expected.

Depressing. The room was dark, dingy and had a musty smell. I didn't even stay but instead went a very short distance to Hotel Waco which was very nice.

This place was awful, worst nights sleep I've ever gotten with a hotel and woke up with a pounding headache (hence probobly the overly grouchy mood). The design of the hotel is terrible--it is aesthetically pleasing and cool in theory (the indoor pool is nice), but unfortunatly there is no sound block so we were woken up all hours of the night. And thats just the lobbey side--the noise coming from the hallway was even worse. People were banging on our door, yelling down the halls, and overall treating everyone with extreme disrespect. I don't know where the hotel service was when it's inhabitants were terrorizing its other customers, especially after a noise complaint and "reassurance" that it wouldn't be a problem. I don't mean to make this review sound so terrible, normally I am very generous about these things, but, like I said, I just woke up from the worst nights sleep ever and want to collapse. Not restful, not peaceful, although maybe a nice place to go with a group of friends looking for a cheap escape. If you can, go somewhere else to stay, but if you can't, bring earplugs. And patience. Lots and lots of patience.

When I checked in, I asked for first floor, king, close to the meeting rooms. They gave me room 157 which is about as far as you can get from the meeting rooms, saying they didn’t have anything closer. When I got to the room, the smell was overpowering as soon as I walked into the room. In fact, my eyes were watering as I called the front desk and told them I’d need another room, one that didn’t smell. They didn’t even express surprise that it smelled. They gave me another room, first floor, king sized AND closer to the meeting rooms. First of all, how come I didn’t get that room first? Second, why did they give me room 157 when they apparently knew it smelled. The WIFI didn’t work well either. When I was able to connect, it was remarkably slow, barely faster than dial-up. Finally, the hotel is in a rough part of town. The fence around the entire parking lot is a clue.

The Clarion hotel is a very clean facility. The staff is very friendly and try to accomadate your needs to the best of their ability. The rooms are very clean, I could walk on the carpet with white socks and they didnt turn another color. The breakfast isn't like a usual hotel. There is real food cooked in thier in-house kitchen. they have a bar/lounge with pool tables, darts, music, and good drink prices. The pool facilities are indoor and heated. i enjoyed most of my stay in their pool. The location is sitiuated peefectly in waco. it is right off of the freeway, so you cant miss it. There is a gas station next door, fast food restruants all around, and many waco tourist sites within walking distance. i would reccomend this hotel to anyone considering staying in waco for a night or even a a couple weeks. The prices are very reasonable and they offer military discounts! this place has a very relaxed feel, you can feel like your in a clean hotel. the decorating is beautiful, alot of plant life. i would definitly go to waco just to spend a weekend at this hotel.

The service at this Clarion was really good. They were a bit slow at checkin, but upgraded our room for less than what we were originally going to pay. The room was nice and big, plenty of room for three. It was conveniently located and easy to get to. The breakfast wasn't worth the extra $5. Would definitly recommend

The service was good. The room was very clean & all was in working order. I thought that the location was fine, if your there for the college it's like right there. The Lounge was nice, the pinacoladas were good & the price was also. My friends had the fried cheese cake & they said it was wounderful. Kids loved the indoor pool, it was nice & clean. The dinning area was nice also quit & pretty with the plants all around. The continental breakfast was allright, wasn't much to it. The kids really wanted the bacon & eggs so I paid the $5.00 each for them to have "The hot bar breakfast". I feel that it was pretty much worth the money I paid for us to stay there, so I'm sure we will be back.

First of all, we didnt receive a vey warm welcome. Second, the entire hotel smelled musty. Third, our room had a disgusting odor of smoke. Fourth, we noticed the bed spread had multiple "stains" all over it. When we checked out we asked if they washed the bedspreads on a daily basis and we were told yes. When we told the clerk that there were multiple white satins all over the blue bedspread, all she could do is say she was sorry and she blew it off like it was nothing. I would NOT recommend staying in this hotel. It is obvious that they don't value their customers!!!

We pulled off I-35 looking for a place to stay for the night before we went to the Dr. Pepper museum the next day, and were surprised at the quality of the Clarion. It's been recently renovated with a beautiful indoor jungle-like atrium and an indoor pool. The outer room we stayed in was clean and had a fridge and a microwave. Full breakfast the following morning wasn't bad. I'd recommend this hotel - It's only a few blocks from the Dr. Pepper museum, and Baylor is right across the highway.
