Service wasTerrible
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 1/2/11
New Years Tragedy, I had previously stayed at the Westin about four months preciously and I had no complaints. Never the less, without any hesitation we decided to re-book the Westin for our New Years Eve festivities. Upon arrival from Houston( I arrived ahead of my party-which the Westin was previously informed) when checking in I was informed that we had two reservations( Clearly a mistake), in which both already had been pre-paid and there was nothing they could do to accommodate the situation, I was told. Then even though I was a guest of the arriving party; I was asked for a credit card to keep on file. If your guest of another party they should make sure that everyone is informed of the policies before checking in and when customer make special request, of parties arriving before them they should be informed of policy so when there arrive guest they aren’t bombarded with all these issues. Issues I experienced with the Westin: *Customer service was terrible, no accommodations to customer *When asked to switch to another room in which I had purchased according to the Westin. I was told that do to the short notice(10min after check in)they could not move me and it would be HARD FOR HOUSEKEEPING TO COME BACK OUT AND GET THE ROOM READY FOR ANOTHER CUSTOMER. Twenty minutes later, only to be told there was not an addition reservation. *Mixing-up customer reservations *As a guest of another party in which they booked and purchased the room, my credit card was charged and not there’s. *Room was dirty *Asked for a microwave, was told it would take 45min…IT NEVER CAME *Water pressure was terrible

HIGHLY DISAPPOINTED AND I WOULD NEVER GO BACK!!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 7/7/09
Upon arrival to the hotel we could not fit our van into the parking garage, the gentleman at the front desk said we could park on the side & if we needed to move it he would let us know. We never heard from him from June 28-July 1st. I called on the 25th to see if the rooms had refrigerators and/or microwaves; I was told microwaves were $10 a day but refrigerators were complimentary. I asked to have one placed in4 of our rooms. When we arrived they scrambled to find us 4 rooms even though we had reservations (we were not even on the same floors!), none of our rooms had fridge's and we waited close to 11pm to get them. One of our rooms had it dropped off outside the door! we were at a law enforcement conference and had close to 400 people attend. accomodations were lousy. we picked this hotel because of the name and the pictures on line. The pictures that showed for the merit address was not the hotel we statyed in! Room service would not give out the "complimentary" coffee to us and said we had to go to the front desk if we wanted more. The safe in the room didn't work and no one came to fix it; the refrigerator in the room that is stocked has a note on it that states it will open 15 minutes after check in - in all four rooms they remained locked. The bottles of water were outragious at $4 for a small bottle. They removed the vending machines so you are forced to buy items from their hotel store which is fine if you want to spend that kind of money. After one conference meeting their was a sign that read "LUNCH BUFFET $8.95 ALL YOU CAN EAT" which was in their dining room, when we went down to eat the host told us that it was $11.95 and he argued with us even though the sign stated $8.95. After a few minutes of 'collective bargaining' we ate for the $8.95 price which should have been $3.95!! He quickly went upstairs to remove the sign. It was the little things that the hotel failed to do that irritated us. When we went to check out we had an additional charge of close to $70 which was for the COMPLIMENTARY refrigerators and for parking in the parking garage (which we did not fit in to!) I spoke to the desk person and about the additional charges, and again after more collective bargaining he removed the charges. He did say that we were being charged for parking because we parked on the property and they had to charge us for something and I was being charged for the refrigerators because I called days before to reserve them - which didn't and still doesn't make sense since they are complimentary. Overall the rooms are decent, nothing great, much nicer at the OMNI. They do not give a complimentary breakfast or anything complimentary for that matter. A small pot of coffee is $6.00 and a large $10. For breakfast you can order 2 eggs, toast or muffin, your choice of bacon or ham (2 small pieces) juice and coffee for $21 not including the charge for room service. The hotel is located right downtown and you have your panhandlers begging for money, food or whatever you have to offer. I would not stay at this hotel ever again! Maybe you will have better luck!!

Not as expected
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 8/4/07
We were disappointed with this 4 star hotel. It is an older property. The carpets were stained in the hallways. The cleaning attendants failed to pick up our dirty linens in the bathroom and the shower curtain was torn and ragged and hanging on the floor. A cricket jumped on my hand while I was in the bathroom! The elevators were too slow and once we had to wait 25 minutes for one to open to go downstairs! There are 6 total and one that was broken all weekend, with no sign indicating such (people would stand in it not knowing, then exit). The parking was expensive and then they charged us for internet access, which was a disappointment. On a good note, the beds are heavenly and the pool is great.

Great hotel but
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 7/8/07
Seemed like I was greeted by the one grumpy teenager that worked the desk. Everyone else that worked there seemed to be a delight, but one kid in particular rolled his eyes and scoffed...quite a bit actually! Great hotel, very clean, and the bed was great. They should definitely have all elevators running, since it would take forever to catch one (they seemed to have maybe 2 of the 5 elevators running at any given time) and hey, it's a nice westin, what's with the $9.95/day internet? Even the cheap places have free WiFi!

Nice but Costly
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 9/2/06
Service is excellent. Front desk staff are the best; very helpful and friendly! However, you pay for every little extra thing; including water, internet service, ice.

Not up to Westin standards
By Suffrock, 8/7/06
Felt like I was in a Holiday Inn. Very dated property. Food wasn't very good either, room service was late. Front desk staff was very attentive.
