Good hotel for price
By John and Cyndi, 5/29/09
Hotel itself is nice and clean. Lobby was warm, staff very friendly, room was good size, shower head was absolutely wonderful and over 6 ft high, towels were good quality, free breakfast included eggs, biscuits, fruit, don't miss the waffles next to the TV area. Overall the hotel itself is a nice quality for the price and has much to offer. Warning - the pool was FREEZING when we were there in mid-May. Even my kids could only stay about 10 minutes. Area around the hotel has lots of restaurants, shopping, and is pretty easy access to I-40. Area seems like it was climbing up until the economy dropped and is now in a limbo with more than a few empty / closed buildings and shops nearby. Also a "gentlemen's" club is very close (next parking lot) with a large sign and horrible decor. Otherwise, a great place for a short stay.

I would stay there again, read whole review
By Thetruthis, 3/24/09
First of all let me say that even though there were some negative things about this hotel, I would stay there again for the price I paid, I wouldn't pay over $65. Booked online paid $45 a night with fees included. We arrived just before midnight, there was no clerk on site, after waiting for about 10-15 minutes, I called the hotel's phone #, after it rang about 20 times, the clerk came out of the hallway somewhere and said "he was busy". checked in ok, room has 2 full size beds, crate on AC/Heater was broken but it still worked well when we used it. We stayed 2 nights, had breakfast both mornings, it was crowded but good food available, we were gone during the whole day, came back and found our door propped open with the safety latch, not happy about that, it must have been left like that by the maid who cleaned the room. We did not have anything missing, incident reported to the front desk. Pros: Easy to find, close to many restaurants and attractions, good shower water pressure, free good breakfast, good price for room Cons: Could be cleaner, had to wait to check in, room left open by maid service?.

Just average
By Beverly, 2/20/06
It was an average hotel...it was not as new on the inside as the outside might have indicated. For the price I would probablly pick a different place next time.

Clean & Helpful hotel
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/25/05
We arrived during an ice storm. Front desk already had helpful phone numbers for road conditions printed out for guests to take. The hot breakfast (bisquits and gravy, scrambled eggs) was a big plus especially given the conditions. There are quite a few eating establishments located near the hotel. This hotel was clean and the decor bright and upbeat.

Leaking ceiling, moldy bathroom
By Bisondalen, 5/27/05
We just spent 5 nights at this hotel. They are in the middle of redecorating (it appears to have recently changed names/management.) At first they were very helpful and nice. The complimentary breakfast is very good. Our bathroom smelled moldy when we first walked in, but we thought it was from the fan not being used much. Later, we discovered there was a leak in the ceiling whenever someone used the upstairs bathroom... hopefully it wasn't sewage from the toilet dripping on us while we showered... We reported it to management, but they did nothing to move us to another room, assure that the upstairs room was not being used, nor took the time to inspect what we reported during the 2 days left of our stay. The door to the bathroom didn't close because the building had settled so much and was out of square. The room entry door was also out of square, leaving a gap with light (and noise) shining in from the hall at night. Lighting is very poor if you are trying to do any business, and there is no table or extra chairs to work from if there are 2 people sharing the room. (one desk/chair only). There is a refrigerator and microwave available by request, but no extra outlets in the room to plug them in where it doesn't block access to the bed or bathroom. I doubt we will come back to this hotel on our next trip to Amarillo.
