Description

The Rodeway Inn Downtown in San Antonio is conveniently located approximately seven miles from the San Antonio International Airport and one mile from the famous Riverwalk. Every morning, guests can enjoy a complimentary continental breakfast. Lulu's Cafe serves breakfast and lunch and is located across the street. The hotel also has a 600-square-foot meeting room, seasonal outdoor pool, coin-operated laundry facilities, and free parking area. Just outside the hotel is a trolley stop to take guests to all the downtown attractions (Alamo, Riverwalk, Market Square, etc). Within a mile or two of the hotel are Vietnam War Memorial, Market Square, Cowboy Museum, The Alamo, Arneson River Theatre, River Center Mall, and Hemisfair Plaza. The hotel is comprised of two stories with 121 sleeping rooms--smoking or non-smoking--with one king bed or two double beds. Nightmare Hotel

There was nothing that we liked about this DUMP...The place was filthy and in need of serouse repairs...We went for the free continental breakfast but ended up having TANG that was as thick as mud and a buffin thats all that was there.....But in fairness to Roadway Inn you guys were there when we needed a room at the last minute everyone else were all booked up!

Couldn't wait to pack my luggage and go home.

Definitely the most disgusting place I have ever stayed at. I don't know where to start. From the floor, to the ceiling was filth. Would not recommend this place to anybody. Not to mention the service was lousy. The area is very runned down with homeless people walking the streets. Hope this review helps you make your choice to not want to stay here. They don't deserve the business. If I hadn't booked my motel, I would have been out of there the first night.

Dirty and disgusting

This was easily one of the most disgusting hotels I've ever stayed at. The walls are stained and dirty, the carpet was dirty and stained, there was a large hole in the wall of the bathroom, half of the lights and electric outlets did not work, there was not wireless internet access (as advertised), and there were bugs all of the place. I honestly don't understand how this place could receive ANY positive review and am astonished it is even in business. Avoid at all costs.

Filthy, had to clean it myself!!!

This hotel is easily the worst hotel my family has ever stayed in, including the one that had cockroaches. The bathroom had fluids all over and food wrappers in the bedding and on the floor. An hour and a half after seeing the room, the hotel sent a person from laundry to clean the room. He had never been trained on what to do in the rooms, so I had to clean it myself and make the beds. It has been almost 3 hours and the manager still won't deem it necessary to speak with me. I would have gladly changed hotels if there were rooms somewhere to be had. I am hoping that choice hotels revokes the hotels charter, that is how bad the service here is.

How can this place be called a hotel, and how in the world does it stay in business? Please read reviews before booking any rooms! This place is awful, nasty, dirty, awful, did I mention awful?

Not bad

The Hotel although old is under new management and they are doing repairs and have done a lot of painting. The room we stayed in was clean with no problems. The bed we slept in could use a new mattress but other than that the Hotel was fine. The Hotel is located on the upper deck of I-35 so there is a little noise so if you are not use to it this may bother you.

Prepare for traffic noise

What was said in the other reviews is true. San Antonio is an expensive hotel market. Never met a drain in a hotel shower that worked, but these were very poor. Rooms were worn. Be prepared for noise from traffic.

It only it were clean, I wouldn't have minded, but...

I stayed here because all the other places were booked when I made my late plans. I wouldn't have minded if only the room were clean, but.. THE PHONE SYSTEM WAS OUT OF ORDER FOR THREE DAYS--how do you say "emergency 911" . The office staff could not even phone out. More emergencies-- 1. Unpainted, filthy walls 2. Dirty sinks, hair in the bathtub drain. 3. Sat on bed with coverlet off and dust floats up in the air--I was wheezing within hours. Bed mattress and pillows might have been bought from the Salvation Army shelter refuse sale 4. Air conditioner emits a foul smell 5. Coffee maker but no coffee or supplies 6. Noisy, sirens, traffic noise from freeway 7. Breakfast is choice of a glazed donut and hard, recycled apples and oranges (obviously uneaten from weeks before.) 8. No clocks--time on tv not accurate 9. Questionable neighborhood 10. Staff quoted rates that were not consistent with what I was charged--complaint in process. BEWARE!!
