Days Inn Houston West, Houston

I liked the low price ($52.10 after tax), the decent location, the comfortable bed, the clear tv, and the clean room. This hotel is obviously quite old (probably built when the interstate opened in the 1960s). It looks as though it has undergone a semi-renovation, however. I did not like the old feel to the place, but for the price, I can't complain. I'd stay again.

Check-in was a breeze. I am not from Houston and the instructions I received online were not fully correct, so I had to phone the hotel. The desk clerk was extremely pleasant and gave great directions. Upon check-in, the process was quick and simple and the room was clean. I also appreciated the 24-hour security that patrolled the area. Although check-in was a breze,and the hotel was located directly off of a main Highway and near food, I was disappointd in the fact that my reservations were for two and my room was stocked with towels for one, which was stranmge to me. And upon requesting towels, three times, I was finally told that there were none clean. I was extremely disappointed in this. I was also disappointed that I requested an iron and was told that I had to retrieve it from the front desk and leave an ID. This is such a primitive practice. Most rooms now are supplied with irons.

One of the worst hotels in the world. Don't judge the hotel by the pictures given on the web site. This is the most disgusting hotels I have ever seen. It desevers negetive star

This was my worst experience in staying in a motel/hotel. Front desk person, unfriendly and unhelpful. The room.... walls so dirty made your skin crawl, no light bulb in lamp and never got one, smoke alarm hanging down by wires, ants crawling up wall.... carpet and chairs too dirty to walk on barefoot and chairs too dirty to sit on. Bath room and lavatory area were very clean. So cleaning person did what they could. Sheets were clean. Door had about 1/2 inch of daylight showing between door and facing... deadbold went only half way in, as there was so much space between the two wouldn't work properly. Outside plywood or whatever was loose from top of door half way down and pulled out when opening door sometimes. I felt very unsafe in this place and would never go to another Days Inn, even thought we have stayed in them for years in other areas. This is a good part of Houston and there was no need for it to be in such disrepair and feel so unsafe. Left message for Gen. Mgr. who has not returned my call.
