The Galveston BEST WESTERN Beachfront Inn, Galveston

we decided to take a mini vacation with our kids, at first glance it seemed pretty decent, and im not picky when it comes to hotels, just as long as they are clean. The beds were very uncomfortable, and seemed very old. the elevator scared me a little bit..definitely needs some remodeling,. But the biggest offense of this place, was the fact that my young son left behind a VERY expensive toy without our knowledge. It was our fault for not double checking, but when i called the day after we left the hotel, i informed the front desk of what happened, they said they would check with house keeping, and call me back, i did NOT hear from them again, i called again, with the same ... no call back. My son loved that toy, and to me that is just as bad as stealing, this toy obviously belonged to a young child, and they didn't even have the decency to turn it in to give the owners a chance to reclaim it...or bother calling me back. This thing cost more than what i payed for the room otherwise i wouldn't be so upset about it. I will not spend my money hear again. I would expect better out of employees, but i guess not in this place.

The price and location of this hotel were great. It is right across from the beach and you and your family can walk to the beach. However, the rooms smelled musty and moldy. The microwave in the room had burnt popcorn in it when we checked in and never did get cleaned. Everytime our room was cleaned we would have to call the front desk for more towels. The service and cleaning service was terrible!! We will not be visiting this hotel, actually motel, again.

Where do I start, if you like old stinky rooms, bugs, mildew stains, sinks that drip, shower that has poor pressure, a manager that is an idiot, than this is the place for you. The manager could have adjusted the room rate to compensate for this hillbilly habitat but refused. But then I see his point 10 bucks a night would still be too much.

This is a motel not a hotel. It is in need of a update and remodel. The rooms are old and musty smelling. The fixtures are old, the furniture is old and the carpet is filthy. I am a Holiday Inn fan, but couldn't get a room there, so I opted for Best Western. Bad move. For $113, I expected way more comfort. The property was very dirty, fixtures were hanging off the wall. You know when the lobby closes completely and locks the door, that you have a lower class motel. There are A/C drains literally everywhere along the walkways, causing a constant moisture problem. I parked my car in the garage at night, unknowingly parking under an A/C drain that leaked onto my car all night, leaving a dirty residue. I booked a room with a king bed and pull out couch for my little niece. There were no linens on the pull out. I called and asked for linens...after an hour wait, had to go down to the locked lobby and wait at the little window for the clerk to appear. They brought linens, but no pillows because they had no more, so I had to share a pillow. The property in general is run down and I believe not up to Best Western's corporate standards. Some one from Corporate needs to visit this property. I had booked for two nights, but opted to check out early the next day so I wouldn't be charged. Luckly, I was able to book at the Holiday Inn Resort just down the street for $119...what a relief. That property is excellent and what I come to expect. The only good thing about this motel is it is across from the beach. If you don't care about looks and cleanliness, then this is your place to be...but this should be a 49.99 a night stay, not 113.00.

Rooms were o.k., my son and his friends stayed in another room, it leaked, and the carpet was buckled. Elevator was old, slow and smelled. The breakfast was subpar. Our t.v. worked but had a bad picture. The location for this hotel was good right by water but the beach across from it was bad, you had to walk down about a block to a better beach. Next time we will pay a little more for a new better/newer hotel.

Staff was very friendly. Nice, clean room, great continental breakfast.....my family stayed at the San Luis and got NONE of that and paid 3 times more than I did!!!!

WE stayed here the first of September I had Doctor Appts on Island .Pool was filthy Roaches everywhere in Room AND THE WORST OF ALL WE CAUGHT SCABIES FROM THE FILTHY BEDS THEY NEED TO CLEAN UP ARE CLOSE DOWN.NEVER NEVER AGAIN WILL I STAY HERE WOULD RATHER SLEEP IN MY VAN NEXT TIME.

Stayed here for 3 days for a family vacation. Beds were noisy and uncomfortable, tv was broken, and the toilet needed to be repaired. Will pick a different hotel next time.

The hotel was in disrepair (shower leaked, inadequate water pressure, pool lights broken, elevator broken). we were locked out of our room for 2 hours because the key/door system broke. Coke machine was not stocked properly (select dr. pepper, get sprite). It looks like the owner is taking advantage of a great location but has severly cut back on maintenance. It isn't worth it. All beach front hotels are priced similarly - try somewhere else.

ROACHES!!!! Floor was disgusting in the room. Woke up to roaches on the phone and nightstand next to the bed...who knows if they were in bed with us while sleeping! Loud airconditiononer and fridge....Not worth the deal...they comped us 1 night due to roaches...Ya, that makes us feel much better
