Bayfront Inn, Corpus Christi

This was a last minute stay decision(tip: make reservations and check the rooms out BEFORE giving them $$)that we should have spent more time preparing for. For a 1 night stay it was a place to rest. The bathrooms were clean but the carpet looked as if they haven't shampooed it in decades! I slept on top of the comforter and used a blanket I had to cover. My husband slept normally in the bed but I don't trust sheets I haven't washed and know they are clean and sanitized. Another tip: take your own sheets! i usally take my own pillow. The furniture in the room was a hodge podge of pieces that didn't even closely match each other or the curtains or the wall border around the room. It had a musty smell and the mattresses were hard. Guess because they were the throwaways from a Marriott which was visible on the tag on the side of the mattress. Great... Alot of changes need to be made if this place is going to have me back as a customer. Maybe I will give them a couple of years to improve. The hotel itself looked very run down. My husband went early in the morning for their "breakfast" and came back with staile generic cherrios...minus the milk. He said people were very upset that the pastries were already gone and they didn't have anymore and were not going to go get anymore. No fruit, No juice, No milk! I don't expect a full breakfast but satile food and no milk for the cereal? Are we to use water? Really? And then not doing what you can to satisfy your customers? I don't care if this was a $20/night room Customer service is the #1 rule! We swam in the pool and it was the only good thing about this place. Only we swam at night cause in the daytime the pool is in direct sun! If you are going to burn in Corpus then burn at the beach which is directly in front of the hotel. One would think this place would look alot better than it does especially with the Omni next door and a huge Bank of America Building on the other side. While swimming we smelled the most wonderful aromas of the Thai restaurants down the block. We had already had dinner but they smelled wonderful! Next time... So recap: filthy carpet, smelled musty, "shut up" food for breakfast, questionable cleanliness of sheets. TAKE TIME TO RESEARCH/MAKE RESERVATIONS BEFORE GOING!!!

First the room that was booked and paid for, was not the room me and my family were given. The service was non-existent. Defintely a rustic, old-school Americana experience. Recommend looking elsewhere for a family stay.

I was very much upset by the stinking smell of toilets as soon as I entered the lobby. I had a prior online resevation at a cheaper rate otherwise I would have walked out. I did not know of the innumerable roaches crawling through the breakfast table when I made the reservation. My non smoking room was full of cigar smoke, the bathroom door was cracked and the bathtub rusty. Roaches came to lick on my face once I turned off the night lamp. The manager was not available for any refund. The front desk guy was reluctant to change rooms. It was sheer bad luck on my part that I chose Bayfront Inn for my stay. I would never visit Corpus Christi again if I have to stay here.

All of the bad reviews on this site are accurate. My wife and I checked in for a bay view room and were given a room on a lower floor with a big post in front of the window. Could not have seen the bay without the post as the hotel sits lower then the hiway. With the post no way! We asked to move and were given a room that probably did have a view of the bay. When we went in the moldy smell would knock you over. The filth was everywhere. The heater sounded like something out of a shrimp boat. The only good thing.........when we went right back to the front desk to check out...........we were given a full refund no questions asked. I recomend the Omni Marina right next door...it will cost a little bit more but it is worth it.

We were traveling in October, rates were very reasonable. Appearance of room was good. Don't look under the bedspread, boxspring had disgusting stains and BIG roaches in room! Reported to management while trying to get a working remote control for the TV. (never did get one)

This is the worst hotel we have ever stayed at. I don't think they ever clean the rooms when guest leave. They just make the beds. There were nail clippings on the floor, dirty towels, and hair in the bed. The dirt was thick on all the furniture. The pool was dirty and cloudy from the dirt. The door didn't even lock properly. We had to have a chair hold the curtain closed. This is just to name a few. This was the worst experience ever.

Worst hotel I had ever stayed. From the oustside and the location you think is a nice place to stay but is awful the rooms are very dirty there were hairs on the bathroom floor,toliet dirty, roaches, stains on the bed sheets and pillows,mold on the shower, towels very dirty, when I complainted all I got was a laugh from the manager , filthy place don't waste your time and look someplace else.

Rates. Too expensive. why not include some fruit on breakfast? My kids liked swimming pool and the room. If rates were less expensive, we would go back next summer!

We paid for a room at the Bayfront Inn and within 15 minutes wanted our money back. I always turn the sheets back and there I found roach legs. There was trash under the beds and used forks wrapped in napkins inside one of our dresser drawers. The night clerk offered us a different room and being resonable I said yes, but that I want to look at it first. The second room was dirty, too. There was more trash under the beds, bugs squished onto the walls, and poop skids in the toilet. I asked for a refund and the night clerk said he was only authorized to refund half of our money without a manager's approval. We had to go back the next day to get the other half of our money back. They also try to say they are the cheapest hotel in town. What they don't tell you is that the rate goes from $59/ night to $114/night for a weekend night.

We have previously stayed at the Bayfront which at that time it was fine. I stayed this past weekend, the bathroom had hair on the floor where housekeeping did not clean, there was something on the shower curtain which I did not see until this sunday (5-14-06) morning which made me cut my shower short. The air conditioner was running like a car engine and sounded like it was going to launch from the room. My son's room which was right next door, the toilet leaked evertime you flushed it. There were two wash clothes in a room for four people. I will not stay at this hoetel again and will not recommend it to anyone. This hospital (in the past) has been where families stay when they have children at Driscoll Children's Hospital, this is where I became familiar with this hotel. AGain I am thorought disappointed for the amount of money that was shelled out for two nights for two rooms. If they were to ask me if I wanted a refunt for my room and my son's room the answer would be "YES" Thank You.
