Gaido's Seaside Inn, Galveston

The folks at Gaido's always take excellent care of us. Clean rooms, really reasonable rates, beach views , helpful staff and then.. there is Miss Wanda!!! She is the sweetest lady and she always made our breakfast time special! She cooked my mama's eggs to perfection ( and mama is really picky!) but her warm heart and big hugs always started our days off with a smile!

So i thought guidos was a great place to stay for a 2day trip. It was the most inexpensive place we found while driving around the hotels because we went to galveston on a whim and didnt have any plans made. Because of the price we were expecting another econolodge like crappy motel but when we entered the room we got taken by surprise. Aside from the ugly curtains and matching bedspread, the rooms were clean and i mean really clean (OCD talking here). The bed were really comfortable like you melted in them once your removed the ugly covers. There was a flat screen with a few good channels that kept my siblings busy and the bathroom were also clean and towels as well. We were in a non-smoking room forgot to mention. So, overall we had a good time and i found myself enjoying the time we were in the hotel. Oh and they had free breakfast, nothing great but it was something. The beach was like 2 min. from our room. They also remodeled the pool, its big and beautiful and changes colors at night. Im 17 years old and i enjoyed being there so i think you will too.

Arrived and checked into the hotel for a 2 night stay, we asked for a non-smoking room, and got one.... so we thought. Went into the room and immediately could tell it was smoked it (the 2 ashtrays were a dead give away), the room seemed dirty beds were made, but the sink had burns all over the cheap fake marble, it also had hair all over the place.... I wouldn't recommend this room to anyone unless you only plan to stay here after getting trashed on the beach and just need a place to sleep it off....

I think that it is over priced for the quality of the room that you get.. The rooms are very outdated and you have alot of road noise...

We have stayed here everytime we go to Galveston. The hotel needs some updating, but the beds are very comfortable and I love being able to walk across the highway to get to the beach. Also, Gaidos Restaurant IS WONDERFUL, TRY THE STUFFED SHRIMP mmmmm!

I've stayed here before and loved it! I have stayed at the Hotel Galvez and the Holiday Inn and paid much more and but I loved the location and easiness of getting to the beach! BUT....you need to get a web site! i have been trying all night to find one where I could make reservations. This is the closet I found to getting to you but all I could do was leave a review. it's late at night and I don't feel like getting on the phone!! No telling how many customers you lose when they cant find you on line so they just pick another hotel they pops up when your looking!!

Okay, there wasn't anything to dislike - it was clean, neat, comfortable, had a great outdoor pool, best seafood restaurant right on the premises AND, a perfect view of the water from right across the street. Location, awesome...!!!! Right in the middle of the Seawall. Front desk was helpful & friendly; prices are UNBELIEVABLE. We got to the Island a day earlier than planned and couldn't get into our condo (Islander East - totally awesome, we love it to death), so we decided to go with Guidos because in the past decades I use to stay at Commodore or Flagship (miss that place) and wanted to try something different but stay in mid-seawall. NO REGRETS, in fact, I may start planning our annual trip to include a couple days at Guido's before our stay at Islander East.

Our waiter gave himself an extra tip on my credit card. Unless you want to be robbed, pay cash only.

We just got back from Galveston, I have to say I was very happy with Gaidos seaside inn, very clean and nice, nice beds and staff. I will go back again.

This was a very clean place to stay. It is not a fancy place. There are no extra's like a coffee maker, hair dryer, and the ice machine didn't work either. So make sure to take you own stuff. But the view was great, the price was alright. The pool was clean, the rooms were clean. I don't really have any complaints, I just wish I would have known ahead of time to take my hair dryer, (I had to buy one). And coffee was at the office. Would I go back to this Hotel... OH YEA! Going bad this Friday..... lol The beach in front of this place is so nice. It's just in a great area, you can walk to everything.
