Bad experience
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/09/09
Good matress and pillows, and good location, that's about it. Really bad breakfast. Lousy housekeeping. The bathroom smells like cigarret. Old TV's. Pricy and $12/day for internet access while San Antonio WiFi $17 per 7 days. No way we will stay here again. Need to benchmark Embassy Suites in Laredo, Tx completely opposite experience.

Not same as it was several months ago
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 06/21/09
Had visited ESH several times and had enjoyed every single time. Last week stayed at hotel and it was a total different place. Front desk service not good at all. As checking-in noticed that they had hidden fees that I had never seen before. Elevators are extremly slow, took me at least five minutes to get from lobby to room. Internet cost at least 10.99 per computer that logs in per 24 hours. As I wake up the next day around 10:45 cleaning lady walks in my room without knocking and was surprised to see me in and walks out saying nothing. At 11 again another cleaning staff member knocks at my room and again as soon as I walk to door just takes off. Overall not exactly a good stay, hotel service has noticably gone down in last 3 months to a year. Not thinking of staying in that hotel in at least another 3 to 5 months or maybe not planning to even go back. Rate from 1 to 5. I give it a 1.5.

Disappointed
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 05/14/09
Be aware if you plan on using your computer you will pay for $11 + tax for 24 hours for each computer that logs on. (We all travel with our own lap tops). The elevator on one side was broken. We had a suite and door's lock between the living and bedroom was broken and would lock automatically when closed. My husband went to bed early and I had to knock on the door and wake him up to open the door and when he got up the next morning he got locked out and used his pocket knife to unlock the door to get back in to take a shower. We also could hear the traffic and the night owl people next door. The breakfast is a great value especially for families. Be prepared to wait because it was very busy.

Not the Embassy I was expecting
By Toddy, 09/09/08
I have stayed at other Embassy Suites properties and was disappointed. The hotel had recently undergone renovations. The elevators near my room were closed when we arrived. When we went downstairs for "Adult" swim there were lots of children in the pool. When an employee came in he went around asking everyone if the kids were bothering them! Well of course they were not bothering their parents who were sitting talking and drinking. Hard to relax in the Jacuzzi when there are kids jumping in and out of it. When I bring my children to a hotel I make sure to have them out of the pool for adult swim. It is just common courtesy! The staff was friendly and the shuttle driver was great. Just expected more for the price we paid.

Hotel showing age!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/29/07
This hotel has clearly seen it's day, but now the age is showing including the decor. Upon entry the lobby smelled moldy. The evening managers reception was ok, lacking the standard hot appetizers. Breakfast was not the best experience. They were understaffed and the tables were missing basic items, i.e. salt/pepper. Staff was not able to communicate in English. Key disappointment was the bathroom shower. Not sure if the tub was rotting or the "gel" based bottom was standard whch is what the maid confirmed. However, the "gel" surface was unsteady and you literally had to hold to the rail to keep from falling out. As a result of this "gel" surface, my child fell in the tub because the bottom was so unsteady. Potential lawsuit here!! If you are in San Antonio for pleasure, it's worth the extra to stay closer to the Riverwalk or Sea World, either way you have better options. If on business...better options are available.

Looking forward to going back!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/20/06
The hotel was in a great location. Next door to the hotel is a game room & batting cages. The hotel itself was very quiet! The staff was very nice & courteous. Breakfast buffet was unbelievable! And to end your evening off right, free drinks & snacks!

Relax & stay awhile
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 04/29/05
We stayed a few years ago and had a good experience. The rooms were above average, the hotel staff made our stay comfortable. Before starting your day stop by the atruim for a full made to order breakfast (pancakes, omelettes, bacon & sausage). They also had fresh fruits, cereals, bagels, etc. Then after a long day sight seeing enjoy the complimentary happy hour and a dip in the indoor pool. Also, the hotel is close to Malibu Castle, a mini golf & bumper boats style place. Also note you do not hear the noise from Malibu Castle in the hotel.
