I Wouldn't do it again
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 7/4/11
We made our reservations ahead of time we came to the hotel and the rooms were not ready I had to kids that didn't have a bath .I called back a hour and a half later the rooms were still not ready.the guy behind the desk gave me a rolling cart knowing that the elevator was out .they didn't offer us any cookies I thought that was the hole point in staying at the double tree.we ask them to put a roll away bed in our room when we made our reservations and it was not in the room when we got here .we finally got in our room (which was 11)it was nice .also we got our bill and it was amazing how many taxes their were.

DIRTY, SMELLY, BED-NO WAY WILL I RETURN!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 3/29/11
I liked the Hotel in general but the Room was near an elevator and very very noisy. Worst, the bed had an odor to it that smell like the sheet had not been changed in a while- very discusting. Hotel did not offer refund or offer any type of recompensation. Acted as though they were concerned but no action. Will not return- many other great options in down town Chattanooga to consider when I go back for the River Fest.

Look at other Hotels
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 9/4/10
We have stayed at this hotel several times and as a Hilton Honors Gold Level member, we were always treated as special until this visit. In fact, every Hilton Hotel normally treats its high level Honors members very well but I guess loyalty does not pay anymore. It appears that this is not the same management team as before as this manger just made excuses and offered no solutions to our concerns. The first clue was that he was in the back office while the front desk clerk was busy helping us, answering a non-stop ringing phone and had four people in line. We were told we would get a room upgrade upon arrival, like every other visit to this location, but when we arrived we were told that they were sold out so there were no suites. This is the only reason we choose this hotel and paid the high price. We had three in our party and were provided a King room, no offer of a rollaway, etc. When we went to ask for one, they were out so gave us a comforter to make a pallet for our child. Then we had to ask for our breakfast coupons because they forgot and then our keys to the very small room didn’t work. I should have known that my wonderful experiences in the past with this hotel were too good to be true. Don’t know if I will ever come back. The valet and the housekeeper were great, management, not so good.

A gem of a hotel.
By Dana, 4/4/10
This hotel is such a great find. We had the most wonderful stay. I have to commend the housekeeping staff because the hotel is so well kept and clean. The outdoor pool is very nice, clean and heated with plenty of chairs, tables and a fire pit. There are plenty of large beach towels provided and a nearby restroom. The staff is very friendly and always asking what they can do for you. There is a hotel store which sells juice, sodas, snacks at normal retail prices. The breakfast buffet is reasonably priced and the food is good. I recommend the "Flo" omelet. It's delicious. There is a beautiful bar upstairs complete with a Wii. There is also a cyber room for those of you who didn't bring your laptop. The ladies lounges provide cotton cloths instead of paper towels for hand drying. The hotel has a very tasteful modern decor. It is a block from the Children's Museum and a 10-15 minute walk to the Aquarium. Parking is convenient and close. You may self park or use valet. I don't think the bellmen are trained to provide full service, but they will if you ask. Our bellman unloaded our car and delivered our luggage to our room while we went to dinner. He was thanked generously, of course. The double room is probably too small for 4 adults but fine if you have children. They do have suites available. They also greet you with warm cookies! You won't be disappointed.

Beautiful Hotel
By Marjorie B, 2/7/10
The hotel is beautiful and most of all clean. The front desk staff was great. The only problem we encountered is buying the package deal for the Aquarium, IMAX, breakfast, and free parking. DO NOT buy this package as you pay more than normal. Buy your tickets separately otherwsise you get taxed on the package deal plus.

Great stay for family!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/11/08
Booked 10 rooms for 3 days for my family of 22. Rooms were excellent. Staff was best ever. No problem (we created) they didn't handle! Made our stay one of the best reunions ever. We booked one handicap suite for 88 yr old Mother which worked well as a gathering spot for all. We spent a lot of time in the hotel. Not one of the 22 had a complaint! Now, that's history! In fact, I heard several say it was the best accomodation we had ever had! (We've had some VERY good ones).

Loved it!!!!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 7/14/08
Our stay was the best ever. We have been to Chattanooga at least twice a year for the past 11 years. This is the first time we have stayed at the Clarion. We will be staying there from now on. The staff, rooms and service was the best we have ever had.

A diamond in the making
By ROBBIEH, 7/3/08
The Chattanooga Clarion was simply the best hotel I have stayed at in the downtown Chattanooga area. I travel to Chattanooga quite often for business and have stayed at the Clarion's competitors on several occasions. The staff is beyond friendly! When I checked in, the desk clerk was friendly and informative. My room was clean, well lit, and well designed. I understand the hotel is undergoing renovations, but it didn't affect me one bit. Overall, it was a great experience and I will DEFINITELY be back!

Good Deal!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 4/30/08
Nice Room and Nice Price! Everything was very easy and clean. The hotel is under construction/renovation but it was not very noticeable and didn't hinder our vacation. The upgraded rooms were fantastic. One word of warning, the room rate does not include the parking fee per night which was $7/night. There are also several taxes to consider so after taxes and parking, it was an additional 20% to our bill. The convenience to the attractions and restaurants were wonderful so you could walk to just about everything. Enjoy!!

Power was turned off, we will not stay again!!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 4/28/08
When we were checking in the hotel clerk did not inform us that the electricity would be turned off from midnight to 4 am on the last night of our stay. After paying and unpacking our luggage, he then told us that the power would be turned off. He gave us a tiny discount on our room, however if we had known that the power was going to be turned off we would have stayed in another hotel!!! It was very hot and uncomfortable in our room and we will not be staying there again! There are other hotels in Chattanooga with good locations that would be better than this dump!!
