Look's nice on the outside but inside is NOT
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 5/7/11
.First of all we have stayed here before. Seem's to get worse each time. Will NEVER stay here again. The plumbing is old and loud and when your taking a shower the tub fills up.Then while taking a shower there was no soap in the dispenser. We opened a drawer and there was trash and a used q tip in it. The curtains were coated in a thick layer of dust. And there were burn holes in the blankets. The "Free Dinner Buffet" is a joke. They served chicken 4 nights in a row with the same fake potatoes and rice, with stale cake. The hot tub water is green, with lord only know's what. Duct tape holding the railings together. The list is really to long to mention everything. The staff is friendly..However the manager/owner is not. Nor does she do anything to fix any of the problems. She just blow's off the problems without even offering to fix them or compensate you in anyway. I have been to most Motels and Hotels between TN to Fl to Maine and have not been in a worse motel then this one. Not only that but they are the most exspensive motel in the area. Would not recommend this place to any one. DON'T let the "FREE" buffet fool you!!

This place was a dump!
By Angie, 9/8/10
Our family checked into this motel expecting a nice experience. The free dinner buffet drawed us in, only to find a quarter inch ground meat patty, coleslaw, white gravy and dried up mashed potatoes. Hardly what I would consider a dinner buffet. When we checked in to our rooms we found stains on the bedsheets, and cigarette burns on the blankets. The motel staff only brought new sheets and we had to change the beds ourselves. The non-smoking rooms were right next door to rooms where people would stand on the walkway and smoke. The room smelled of urine and the table had a layer of dirt scum around the edges. The indoor swimming pool was filled with people smoking, although there were signs posted, "no smoking". The hottub had a layer of dirty foam floating on the surface, and the pool water was cloudy. The breakfast "buffet" consisted of scrambled eggs, tater tots, stale cereal, powdered donuts that were wet, and premade waffles. There was no breakfast meat (i.e. bacon or sausage) on the buffet. Because of the smoking in and around this motel, my daughters and I left with upper respiratory infections. I will never stay and a Magnuson Hotel anywhere! NASTY!!!!! I even told the owner/manager, Millie, about our experience and she offered no explanation for the conditions. This place was not worth a penny of what we paid for it. Next time we will stay with a national chain hotel such as the Hampton Inn!

Great stay and will do it again!
By Maddog, 9/10/09
When searching for a hotel (be sure to check out the Magnuson website) in the area, we decided on this hotel and couldn't have made a better choice. I'm not sure, but it seems like an older hotel and probably was the king of hotels in it's day and I have to say that is one of the reasons I liked it so much. The covered pool is great, so request an inside room. The staff was extra nice and very informative. The room was very clean and spacious. They also offer suites for small price above the normal rates. The dinner/breakfast is included and it was okay. I'm not sure if they change the menu every night or not, but if you're on a budget or tired of eating out from the rest of your trip, it's especially good. Besides being close to the interstate, it seems to be close to the atractions in the area. We were only there to visit The Lost Sea on our way home and I believe it's only 6 miles from the hotel. The hotel had a very safe feel to it and the parking lot was well lit. For the price, it was definitely worth it and we will stay there again when passing through Sweetwater!

Watch out Hilton, Magnuson passes you up!!!!!!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 7/2/09
The Magnuson in Sweetwater is now my number 1 vacation destination. We were returning from a trip to visit family in Florida and saw the Magnuson on yahoo travel and booked it. We were blown away from the moment we entered the motel. We were greeted with a smiling face and an awesome attitude on a Monday evening. We asked to see the room at check in, we are skeptics and were blown away by the presentation. We found an excellent pool and hot tub area that made us think of our visit to Hawaii two years ago. The breakfast was phenominal and we were checked out by another smiling face and the last words we heard were, " HAVE A GREAT DAY". Magunuson made our day in Sweetwater TN!!!!!

I took 8 couples
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 5/26/08
I made a reservation for a group of friends for a weekend. I made the reservation based solely on the reviews. We couldn't have been more pleased. The staff was great. The rooms were clean. The indoor garden and pool was a perfect place to celebrate a birthday for one member of our group. And I came home feeling really good because I was responsible for finding a place to stay & I found a great one!

FOUR TIMES A YEAR
By Cy E, 4/12/08
After a long days drive, we really enjoy sitting and relaxing around the pool and spa for us it's half way from Ontario to Orlando. We come down in the spring and the fall and alway's have had a great stay. It's not the name on the sign that counts,it is the pride of ownership of the facility which is privatly owned,by people who care and employ great friendly staff who also care. Thank You; Mr.& Mrs. Edwards Ontario Canada.

Great Shower
By Trel, 10/31/07
We were just looking for a place to get some sleep on our way back home to Florida. The place was clean, the water pressure was great in the shower. It was quiet. The continental breakfast was very substantial. I would love to come back when we have more time to check out the huge flea market next store. The area looked very nice.
