Landmark Resort, Myrtle Beach

what i liked about the hotel is the swimming pools, and what i did not like about the hotel is working.and i liked the rooms are nice and clean

Worst place we have ever stayed. The service was terrible. The staff was rude. The whole place was nasty. A dog kennel would be cleaner and probably safer.

When we first arrived at the hotel there was a lineup of people out of the doors. The wait was long and the clerks at the check-in were impatient. The hotel itself looked fabulous. We went up the elevator and when we got off at our floor we nearly ran back to leave. The halls and interior looked like a derelict apartment building. We had to travel down the corridor and around another corridor and then through a door to get to our room. Thank heavens it was in the renovated part of the building. From then on we used the overpass elevators to get to our rooms. I have travelled to Myrtle Beach several times and will not stay at this hotel again.

The place is not nearly as clean and cool as it looks in the pictures. Everything is humid-wet, dirty and small. Our pull-down bed was broken, the remote control didn't work, and there were no towels in the room. The maintenance man had to come to our room three times to fix things that were broken. There were dried, moldy pancakes between the fridge and the counter that previous guests had left. Three of the pools were shut down (it's a good thing they were because they were filthy!) The entire week a cleaning crew was pressure washing the ocean side of the building, so we were woken up every morning at 6 am to the sound of pressure washers and men yelling in Spanish. We didn't have any hot water for 7 hours our second day there. Every time we asked the front desk when it would be back, they lied to us, saying 30 minutes. At 1 am on our third night there, some drunk guy's key worked in our door and, not realizing he was in the wrong room, he threw all of our luggage over the 14 story balcony onto the patio and into the lazy river (and it was raining). When we reported this to the front desk, they did NOTHING to help us. We ended up calling the police ourselves. They blamed it on us, saying we left our door open. We definately did not!!!! When we tried to wash our ruined clothes at 4 am, we had to ask them three times to unlock the laundry doors. And we had to pay to wash it!! A manager never showed up to handle the incident. We ended up leaving a day early just to get out of there, so they took that day off of the price, but they offered no additional discount or refund for our troubles. The whole stay was a complete nightmare. The staff was slow, imcompitant, and rude. It's not worth the money you save. Don't ever stay here!

Walls in the elevator up were loose and open to the elevator shaft, the ceilings of the eleavtor were completely torn apart and littered with trash in the ceiling! Carpet filled with holes, cieling with large holes and many stains Bathroom covered in mold. Wallpaper was peeling back almost two feet. Bought some bleach and scrubbed the tub, did not feel safe putting our youngest in to bath. Towel racks and light fixtures were rusting. Front door of vanity cabniet fell off. Plumbing in the shower almost pulled right through the wall board. Pools were very cloudy and had dead roaches floating in them. Back elevators were moldy and very poorly ventilated and since it was the elevators from the pool they were especially nasty. One of the four days there you were able to get towels at the pool, one of them in the pile was blackening from something. They would have to move to the back of the beach. We left a day early. Gave us the form letter response that there were no refunds. They also said that the only one who could do anything about it was the general mamager. I followed with saying, "and of course he is not here is he?" The guy smiled and said no sir he is not. this was a weekday morning at 11:00. Why would a non-weekend employee not be there? Two other couples were in the lobby complaining about the hotle and they said they "could do nothing". Finally after talking amongst ourselves in the lobby loud enough for other guests arriving to hear, the man who said non one could do anything but the general magaer exposed he had lied by giving us our money back.

I have stayed at the Landmark several times prior to this year and this by far was the worst. It was dirty, the shower curtain had not been cleaned the commode seat was loose, it looked like it hadn't been vacumed. I could go on an on about the bathroom. I was not pleased at all. As I was leaving last week to come home, another couple was very unhappy too. They and probably others as well.

we booked a week stay here for our honeymoon and found nothing but problems from the time we arrive until the minute we left. The internet site for this hotel is far from reality. The pools were dirty you couldnt see the bottom we never got to enjoy the 14 pools. the room service never showed up. the elevators were very slow and there was always one broken, the beach was dirty also trash everywhere. the day we left the elevator broke while my husband was in it, he called mainatinace and they never showed up he had no choice but to jump down. That was my wonderful honeymoon

The elevators and hallways are filthy, and there was some nasty, yellow liquid of some type dripping from the celing in the hallway on the 8th floor. The room itself was pretty clean, but the bathtub was very slow to drain. The walls are thin, too, you can hear everything that goes on in the room next to you. Its an okay place to stay, but It would be much better if it were a little cleaner.

After moving from one dirty room to another, twice, my wife and I checked out. I wouldn't take my dying dog to the Landmark. I have never stayed in a place so bad.

Our room was dirty. The murphy bed had dirty linens. Electrical outlets did not work. The elevators were scary---old,old, old. No pillows for murphy bed, we had to beg for clean linens,blankets, and pillows. The halls were in need of ventilation. The ceiling was molded. The carpet was dirty. We paid $200 a night---was worth about $2.00 . The advertising stated 14 pools, we could only find 4. The manager was rude.
