Sands Beach Club Resort, Myrtle Beach

If you do not own your week at this timeshare you will not be allowed to have your motorcycle on the property. We have owned at Sands for 20 yrs. We had friends meeting-staying with us and we had to rent a space at arrowhead campground for their bike because it was not allowed on the property. Website is false advertisement. Not Biker friendly. The campground was the only thing that saved us from having to come home because there were no other condo's available that week. I stayed here in a timeshare my mate owns, and I had a lovley time. Beautiful view from the balcony, spacious rooms, and a very nice hottub down by the sports bar. I stayed for about a week's time and the only complaint I had was about a missing DVD remote, which didn't actually get to us until a day before we left. Otherwise it was a grand place to stay.

This was our first time staying at a "resort" and I will not be returning. I receive better service at one of the chain motels. It was after 11pm (New Year's Eve) and I had requested 2 pillows and a blanket for my 2 young granddaughters (ages 5 & 6) who had to sleep on the sofa bed. The Front Desk tells me housekeeping had closed at 11pm (which I did not know) and it wasn't possible to fullfill my request. I had to take the comforter off the larger bed (which I hate doing because who knows when the comforter was last laundered!) for my granddaughters to use and they had to share a pillow. It wasn't a comfortable night for them at all. Our so-called "oceanview" consisted of seeing trash that was tossed out from the rooms above us onto a boarded area which the A/C units were placed on. We were given a room on the second floor, I had asked to be moved, but the Front Desk said they were totally booked. This was the first time my granddaughters have stayed in a hotel on the beach and unfortunately, it wasn't the most pleasant of accommodations. I would not rate this hotel even a 3-star.

We enjoyed being close to all the attractions but on a quiet, secluded stretch of beach. Our unit, 511, was clean, quiet and had everything we needed. There were several pools and the sports bar was great to catch the Yankees. Can't wait to return (and bring the tennis racquets)!

I BROKE MY ANKLE THERE IN THE ROOM 2 HRS AFTER GETTING THERE, TRIPPED OVER HIGH THREASHOLD. THEY SAID THAT IT WOULD BE TAKEN CARE OF WENT TO EMERGENCY ROOM IN MYRTLE BEACH THEN WENT HOME FOR ADDITIONAL MEDICAL TREATMENT LOSING MY WEEK AND MANY MEDICAL BILLS- THAT WAS ON 10/20 AS OF THIS DATE NO ONE IS RESPONDING HMMMM GO FIGURE. NOW I'M TRYING TO PAY OFF $2000.00 IN MEDICAL BILLS. THEIR ATTORNEYS WERE DECIDING WHICH POLICY WAS RESPONSIBLE AND COMPANY HAS EVIDENTLY DECIDED TO NOT DO ANYTHING I GUESS-WON'T EVEN RETURN PHONE CALLS. GREAT WAY TO HANDLE RCI MEMBERS AND OTHER GUESTS.

Nice: jump'n: won't hez to go back! Just overall a nice place to get away from the hussle on the common world! And the beach was right there with some really nice southren style ladies!

This is the first review I have ever submitted on any vacation. My wife and I have always traded our weeks through RCI and stated in some fantastic places. This place was the dump of all dumps I have ever stayed at. They were construction going on and was not advised until after we had already booked the place. Could not sleep in and rest because the hammering started very early. Exit was locked with a cable so if there was a fire we would have to jump over a railing and into the marsh area. Had rusty nails in front of our room door - thank God we did not have any grandchildren. Furniture was nasty and old and broken down. Door falling off of washer and dryer so we called for service and no one showed up all week. Sliding glass door frame was not nailed to anything and entry into our room would have been easy. This place owns the building behind the beach front one and this is where we got stuck. It is at the very end of the road and the road really leads to nowhere. I will never never book a week at this place ever again. No help we were on our own so we left this stink hole and went to stay at a beach house. Be very careful if you deal with these people because once you get there you are on your own!!!!!!!!!!

We loved that it was at the end of the road and could be quiet at the beach. Fun to fish in the canal, swim in the indoor/outdoor pool, perfect ocean and moon view. Great kids club.

We had to be moved 3 times to get a decent room. The first room was dark and dirty and the bed sheets were ripped and stained. The 2nd room had no A/C. The 3rd room was clean but had minor problems. When I called the manager to complain she was rude and acted as if I should have been happy with the awful 1st room. I called her manager and he was nice at 1st but when I complained in an email I sent to his company he became very angry with me and told me I was not a rational person he could deal with. He said he had planned on offering me a full refund but since I had written the email he could no longer do that. I couldn't believe he treated his customers this way. I have tried to reach the owner unsuccesfully. He will not return my telephone calls and I am told he is out. I wouldn't recommend my dog stay there after the way the management treated me and having to be moved three times. Save your money and stay down the road somewhere else. This "resort" isn't worth the hassel.
