Sands Beach Club Resort, Myrtle Beach

This is the first review I have ever submitted on any vacation. My wife and I have always traded our weeks through RCI and stated in some fantastic places. This place was the dump of all dumps I have ever stayed at. They were construction going on and was not advised until after we had already booked the place. Could not sleep in and rest because the hammering started very early. Exit was locked with a cable so if there was a fire we would have to jump over a railing and into the marsh area. Had rusty nails in front of our room door - thank God we did not have any grandchildren. Furniture was nasty and old and broken down. Door falling off of washer and dryer so we called for service and no one showed up all week. Sliding glass door frame was not nailed to anything and entry into our room would have been easy. This place owns the building behind the beach front one and this is where we got stuck. It is at the very end of the road and the road really leads to nowhere. I will never never book a week at this place ever again. No help we were on our own so we left this stink hole and went to stay at a beach house. Be very careful if you deal with these people because once you get there you are on your own!!!!!!!!!!

We loved that it was at the end of the road and could be quiet at the beach. Fun to fish in the canal, swim in the indoor/outdoor pool, perfect ocean and moon view. Great kids club.

If you do not own your week at this timeshare you will not be allowed to have your motorcycle on the property. We have owned at Sands for 10 yrs. We had family joining us and we had to rent a space at arrowhead campground for their bike because it was not allowed on the property. Website is false advertisement. Not Biker friendly. ...Unreasonably unfriendly!!

We had friends meeting-staying with us and we had to rent a space at arrowhead campground for their bike because it was not allowed on the property. Website is false advertisement. Not Biker friendly. The campground was the only thing that saved us from having to come home because there were no other condo's available that week. I stayed at this resort in early June and actually had a fire on the balcony as the result of an discarded cigar from another balcony. I am a career firefighter in Ohio and am endeavoring to protect those that may choose this place to stay. After evacuating my family and having the fire put out bu local authorities, I tested the smoke alarms in the room that I had taken for granted. None worked. I then started to look closer into the building and numerous standpipes in hallways that had firehoses hooked to them had failed previous inspections. To compound the safety issues with the structure the customer service was very very poor in finding another room and helping with a middle of the night move, there was no help.

i loved how it was right on the beach and you dont have to walk across the parking lot or drive to get to the beach. i also love the fact that there is a tennis,basketball,and volleyball court. this is great for a day thats not too nice and its just a fun activity. i like how there is a person who will take you back and forth between other hotels in a multi-seater gold cart. the only thing that i did not like about the place was some of the facilty. one happened to make my friend feel very uncomfortable, but the sands beach club handled it very well. i love the place and i always come back every year for an another fun adventure!

I BROKE MY ANKLE THERE IN THE ROOM 2 HRS AFTER GETTING THERE, TRIPPED OVER HIGH THREASHOLD. THEY SAID THAT IT WOULD BE TAKEN CARE OF WENT TO EMERGENCY ROOM IN MYRTLE BEACH THEN WENT HOME FOR ADDITIONAL MEDICAL TREATMENT LOSING MY WEEK AND MANY MEDICAL BILLS- THAT WAS ON 10/20 AS OF THIS DATE NO ONE IS RESPONDING HMMMM GO FIGURE. NOW I'M TRYING TO PAY OFF $2000.00 IN MEDICAL BILLS. THEIR ATTORNEYS WERE DECIDING WHICH POLICY WAS RESPONSIBLE AND COMPANY HAS EVIDENTLY DECIDED TO NOT DO ANYTHING I GUESS-WON'T EVEN RETURN PHONE CALLS. GREAT WAY TO HANDLE RCI MEMBERS AND OTHER GUESTS.

Great place. Very Quite. Love it because it is at the end of the beach where there is not a lot of noise at night. Overall it is a great place to stay

The adults enjoyed the location because it is in a quieter location, parking was good, and about 5 min walk to Ocean Annie's Beach Bar. Rooms were very nice, but asked for waste baskets and never received them, only one in the kitchen was available. The only complaint I have is the pool which is located in the rear of the resort outside first floor, and unable to see the ocean. Enjoyed stay but may try another resort because of the pool? Who knows? If you want a little more excitement try Sands Ocean Resort.

We had to be moved 3 times to get a decent room. The first room was dark and dirty and the bed sheets were ripped and stained. The 2nd room had no A/C. The 3rd room was clean but had minor problems. When I called the manager to complain she was rude and acted as if I should have been happy with the awful 1st room. I called her manager and he was nice at 1st but when I complained in an email I sent to his company he became very angry with me and told me I was not a rational person he could deal with. He said he had planned on offering me a full refund but since I had written the email he could no longer do that. I couldn't believe he treated his customers this way. I have tried to reach the owner unsuccesfully. He will not return my telephone calls and I am told he is out. I wouldn't recommend my dog stay there after the way the management treated me and having to be moved three times. Save your money and stay down the road somewhere else. This "resort" isn't worth the hassel.
