Look elsewhere
By John, 10/30/09
We were given a room with no towels or wash cloths, the sheets on the bed had obviously been slept on and the room was not clean. Exploring the hotel we found the public areas to be unclean, the ice machine burned out, etc. Big expense. Big disappointment.

I WOULD RATHER DIE THAN GO BACK THERE
By GUEST 09, 09/07/09
THE LIGHTHOUSE INN WAS BY FAR THE MOST DISGUSTING PLACE I HAVE EVER SEEN IN MY ENTIRE LIFE!! THE SHOWER WAS COVERED IN MOLD, THE BED LINENS WERE STAINED, THE ENTIRE PLACE SMELLED OF URINE. I CONTEMPLATED SLEEPING IN MY CAR. I WOULD NOT USE ANY OF THE BLANKETS AND I WOULD GUARENTEE BED BUGS INFESTED ALL THE MATRESSES. THE PLACE NEEDS TO BE TORN DOWN. PURELY A HAZARD TO ANYONES HEALTH.

The Seagulls Rule
By Peter K, 08/28/07
Very interesting location extremely convenient to Ferry, beaches, wharfs, etc. However... the thousands of seagulls rule the grounds are very interesting birds of character but crap on every car in lot average 5 big hits per night. Hose in lot gets lots of use, but it just stinks. Worse than old cat breath (Hotel is down street from old cat food factory). Feather piles on grounds look like evidence of major recent pillow fight. Other issues are enclosed 1970esque pool-room access area. You can escape the smell of bird but you trade it for mildew. Also service was very poor, a plugged bathtub never got serviced over 4 day span. But then again for almost $200.00 a night what were we expecting, someplace nice?

Find somewhere else to stay.
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/20/07
The rooms here were so filthy dirty, we would never go back. There was mold growing all over the walls, the tub was disgusting, the floors and furniture(including bed linens) were all stained. There were cob webs and bugs everywhere. The pool was so cloudy you couldn't see the bottom, or even your hands in front of you and it smelled of urine. The hot tub didn't work, but they still kept if full of hot dirty water. And piles of dirt at the bottom. The sauna's were out of order. At the bar later that night we actually heard the pool boy talking to all his other co-workers about how he has never put chemicals into the pool and just fills in numbers on the paper chart when asked about it by his boss. The only good thing about this hotel is the location. I would not advise anyone to stay here. Unless you don't mind filth.

Worst dump Inever stayed in!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/15/07
1. They charge your credit card when reservations made!!?? 2. Overpriced, $170 and they even admit its a 2 star place..why do they charge 4 star rates. I'd call it a dead star place. 3. The rooms are moldy, damp stained carpet, smokey, old bedspreads and curtains falling down. Furniture broken. shelves falling off wall. 4. Noisy college kids hanging around late at nite, smokn drinkin and raising hell. 5. unwilling to refund $$, no customer service. Manager questioned what does he get out of refunding my money for a room I didnt use (place was not full so he didnt lose out on another customer). 6. He told me it was because it was a smoking room and I should have switched to a nonsmoking room.

Great staff, great location, awsome visit
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/06/07
I couldnt complain what so ever about the lighthouse inn, great for vacationing and family's, renovated since 06', it's picked up a lot since the new owners have kicked in. People may complain but u have to keep in consideration its a BEACH HOTEL!!! Great location with many places to eat and shop along with the block island ferry located directly across from the Inn.

Treated very well!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 06/17/07
We were supposed to stay at the Lighthouse Inn for one night before going to Block Island. Our plane was delayed and we were not able to use the reservation. Our refund was promptly returned. They could not have been more helpful.

Since renovations!!!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 06/13/07
Since renovations in 2006, this is a great place to stay!!! Definitely a recommendation and we'll stay again. Reviews in 2005 and prior aren't good because they are before the renovations.

WON'T GO BACK
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/26/06
Indoor Pool was cloudy - manager said it just needed some chemicals which he was going to add to the pool latter on but he said the pool was perfectly safe.. Found out at local shop's that the board of health was there days earlier and closed the pool because people were got sick with rashes. I got my money back and left. When you can't trust the managment stay away from the place or check with the board of health
