We Did Get to See the Phillies

I was able to visit the Radisson Warwick Hotel in May of 2004 for a conference.
The hotel staff was courteous, but always seemed a little busy and to make a request at the front desk always seemed to take quite a bit of time. The hotel was clean and the accomodations was somewhat nice. We had made reservations for 2 double beds , but was placed in a king size bed room that was really too small for my husband, son and I. The next day the maids told us that the room next to us was empty and it was a double bed room and was more spacious. I had to make several requests to move to that room.
We came in late on the night we made reservations and besides the room being incorrect the other problem we encountered was parking. I have a customized van and the hotel's parking garage was not high enough for my van. I had to park several blocks over at another parking garage that could accomodate my van's height. This made my van pretty well unaccessible the rest of our stay, due to the fact that we were worried that if we moved it, we would not be able to retain the one or two parking places that had the height we needed. So we ended up relying on taxis for travel. We did get to see the Phillies play, eat a Philly sub on South Street and visit the Liberty Bell.
The last day of my conference we were packing, and the fire alarm went off. Since we were on one of the top floors, we were escorted to the stairwell by maids and told to go down. After numerous flights, we reached ground level to find out that the alarm was for popcorn that had burned in the hotel's deli popcorn popper . We were told that we could go back up. This is well and good, except my husband and I are not in the best of shape and for the next several days on our trip on up to New York, we both had sore muscles from the stairs. Trust me, it made the rest of our trip miserable. Ouch!
So, other than seeing the Phillies and visiting the historic spots in Philadelphia, I can only say the Radisson Warwick Hotel may meet other people standards for quality but for out of shape parents with a seven year old son, it has not been one of our favorite hotels.
