Knights Inn Erie Downtown, Erie

My family and I wanted to stay at a chain hotel/motel since we were not familiar with the area. This sounded great with outdoor pool, continental breakfast, etc. The place takes you back to the 60's and has had a very poor paint job recently. The room was very outdated with many weekend handyman patch-ups. The pool is about as big as a hottub and the continental breakfast is a bag of lenders bagels, and jugs of milk and sunny-d. Definitly not worth the money we spent. To top it off, they charged not only the card I presented at check in, but the card I provided to book the room. Save the $20 and stay at one of the local small motels, they have to be better. I will say that housekeeping seems to take care of the rooms decently.

We got a jaccuzzi "suite" for a night. They said it was non-smoking, but it stank like stale smoke terribly! The room was extremely small, low quality and waaaaay over priced. We paid $140 (with tax)! The room was not only smelly, but dirty too! The bathroom was terrible! The droors were dirty, the tub was dirty, the mattress was ripped at the bottom, the toilet was nasty, the list goes on. They don't even have anti-bacterial soap or coffee in the rooms. The towels were also old and worn out. This "suite" should have been called the discount motel and gone for $30 a night. The only good thing about this place is its location. It is right in downtown Erie, so you don't have to drive anywhere.

This place is awful! It looks like a motel that is rented "by the hour". When we checked in, "guests" actually came outside and were watching us. It left us very nervous to leave our luggage. We were staying there for a 3 day event in town. I looked up the motel on the internet and was looking to see what was closest to the venue. Taking the name and reputation of the motel, I made our and friends of ours reservations. What a mistake! Their room had a faucet that leaked non stop, the door screeched so bad it gave you goose bumps, the 2nd day, no one came in to clean or bring fresh towels. (there were 3 people staying in the room, it would need cleaned) Amazingly my room wasnt awful, it wasnt the nicest room I have stayed in, but it was no where as bad at their's. I was embarrassed as I made the reservations for them. Then we came back and the police were there for some distrubance, then the power went out! The next day at check out, we complained to the person at the front desk, and he said there wasnt anything he could do, and of course, no manager on duty...There was a woman waiting to check out also, and she spoke up, they rented a room with a jaccuzzi and they had NO hot water! The room cost her $130 a night!! Our rooms were $80! I beleive this place it a total rip off and I am also betting from the looks of the people who were outside watching us for 2 days, I beleive they rent the rooms as apartments for low income people....I have stayed at many many hotels/motels and have NEVER had such poor customer service. I do plan on contacting corporate, but from what I have read so far, it will do no good. DO NOT EVER STAY HERE!!!!!!

Intended to stay at this location for convenience to an event we were attending. The room was so bad we decided to pack up after our event and drive several hours home. At first impression it seemed like a decent hotel, albeit a little aged. On further inspection it was a pigsty. Our daughter was playing on the carpet for only a couple minutes after we checked in, and after she stood up her knee's and feet were literally black (and she is not) from the filth on the carpet. The television reception was terrible. The refrigerator smelled horrible. I could go on and on. Staying here really ruined what otherwise would have been a great day. John B. Virginia

This motel should be taken ripped down. The room was disgusting, there was a pool of dried urine in the bathroom around the toilet, the shelf which held the towels was falling off the wall. The room was covered in mold and smelled horrible. The drapes were water stained and hanging off the track. The wallpaper was peeling off the walls. All in all, I WILL NEVER EVER STAY THERE AGAIN. When I spoke with the "boy" behind the so called desk, he was of little use at all and didn't know up from down. I would never recommend this motel to anyone that cares about cleanliness, health issues or for that matter, peace of mind going to sleep in such a disgusting room. I can't imagine how this motel stays in business. Can't head office for Super 8 do something about this sight for sore eyes?

Our room had no heat.We turned it on full blast, left to eat and returned to the same meat locker.Front desk offered a space heater(?).Bathroom was gross.Only used the bathroom to turn hot water on to create heat for the room.Told by front desk that location was close to airport-few minutes down the road-but was quite a ways from it!We complained to the front desk-no help or offer to discount our room.All we wanted was a room to stay overnite and to be close to airport(going on vacation).We stood in the dark,cold lobby waited for a cab to take us to the airport.Even our cab driver said this motel was not the best place to stay! NEVER AGAIN!
