POOR SERVICE BAD ROO,
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 6/20/11
Historic is the word for sure. It smells bad to start, out dated appearance. They recharge yeah I paid for my room before I stayed I am not fighting to get my money back.I booked there on recommendations and b/c they had a pool and game room bad mistake. No pool broken and has been for some time no game room. I asked for manger and was told he was in CA for 2 months and he wouldnt answer the phone. I called him from 10 pm to midnight and finally spoke with Eddie Bhatt (the manager or owner he changed his mind a few times) (he was in the hotel) about my crappy room I was told stay get another room or leave now. I had no internet (should have had it) so I could find a new place fr me and my kids so I was forced to find a cleaner room. My first room was dirty holes in the wall the closet door had no handles. Beds were horrible, my kids got to see lots of delinquents include a drug deal and a guy getting frisked by the police. I have stayed in better low rent room. In fact I left and went a few miles down the rood to the RED ROOF INN, nice people great room, clean good food internet worked pool worked and oh yeah the front desk person lives by the Brunswick and said its the worst place in town. So unless you want holes in the wall filth and drugs go somewhere else. Im still waiting on my money.

ELG picked the wrong hotel
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 2/21/11
Elevator and Esculator were not always operational Staff untrained and non professional Clean towels and wash cloths were not availble daily Reception area for ELG patrons dirty, reception food poor quality All of the rooms not renovated, it was a crap shoot wether you, ended up in the 1960's or 1990's. depending on the floor you were assigned to. If you must stay there make it a room on the 8th floor.

False Advertising
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 8/6/10
- First of all , the picture is not the actual place. It is located in downtown Lancaster and not in the best of neighborhood. We were on the 9th floor and our view and was a construction site, will cranes, bulldozers and etc. By the way, they start working at 7am, very nice wake up call. - No bar lounge, a complaint about the escalators not working a few years back, still not working. - Main entrance is easy accesible to anyone off the street, no need for card to gain entrance - only a sign, scary. - Beds were on regular frame like in a college dorm. My wife and a friend bit sat at the end and almost flipped the bed. - Bathrooms were disguting especially the bathtub, towels were different color, beige and white. TV, about 20 channels. - Please save your money and stay somewhere else, its not worth it.

Do not stay there
By GlubGlub, 8/2/10
Dangerous, dirty, surrounded by scary people. I do not recommend this place! I live in South Philly in a "not so great area" and I was concerned for my safety staying at the Brunswich hotel.

I should have read the reviews before...................
By KellyP, 7/3/08
The location really isn't good. We wished we had done better research and read the reviews. There are so many nicer hotels located closer to intercourse and bird in hand (great amish communities). Parking sounds great but you have to pay $8.00 per night in the garage.... Yeah.. didn't know that before...The Pool was nice, but strange.. 3rd floor. NO FITNESS CENTER... Was closed. Our TV in our room was so small and made such a bad noise that TV was kind of a joke. The Free wireless internet kept kicking us off. It was no used to using your computer.. Thank God for GPS.. The neighbor hood is kind of different. Everything closes early. I guess you pay for what you get... Cheap is cheap.. You pay for what you get. Overall Lancaster is awesome and close to so much..Thankfully we had so much to do outside of our hotel. The hotel really should finish the renovations before renting out half completed rooms..or let people know when they are booking their room. Just stay in a better location in Lancaster.. I would not stay at this place again.. I would pay more and stay at the Best Western.

nice hotel/bad location
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 2/19/08
The hotel it self is very nice, the renovations they have done to the hotel so far are great. I was impressed, the service was wonderful, everyone was very pleasant and very helpful. The only thing I can complain about is the location. This hotel is in Downtown Lancaster, off the beat and trail, we had a very hard time finding our way there or anywhere else for that matter. Seemed to be in a really bad location. Your parking as well is bad, the only parking offered is under a building with a 6'9 Clearance so if you have a large truck like we do, be careful, each time pulling in, our truck antenna was knocked around and we were waiting for the top of our truck to bescraped against the top of the building. Overall I believe this is a great place for Singles or just couples. Not much is offered for small children here. A lot of night life.

No way - no stay again
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 1/21/07
As a passenger on a tour bus we arrived tired and looking for a good night's sleep. We entered the lobby and knew we would not get that. In fact, one comment was if we had come here first, before the theater, we would not have come back. The lobby was horrible, we had people in wheelchairs and the access to the elevator was locked. It took about 15 minutes for someone to come unlock it. We got to the rooms and the first thing one of my roommates did was check the sheets, under the beds, etc. to make sure there were no creepies staying there. She had stayed in a hotel in Fla. that was horrible but she said this was worse. For a place that has as many visitors as Lancaster this was a disgrace. We decided to go the lobby and have a drink to calm our nerves. Needless to say we never got one. The bartender was at the front desk talking and never once looked at the bar to see if there were customers. We waited 1/2 hour and then decided it wasn't worth it. Others in our party were kept awake by voices outside, fights and police cruisers blaring their sirens. My advice - find a different hotel to stay in. There are enough in Lancaster to choose from. If this is their idea of renovation forget it. If you go on a bus trip and this hotel is chosen please try to get your guide to book a different one. I won't even give this one star.

BAD BAD BAD
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 1/4/07
We chose the hotel because it is in the city. Then, we get in our room, and it is freezing so we call to the lobby to tell them and they tell us, turn it on and let it warm up. so, we went out drinking and chose this place so we can drink and walk back. but it was sooooo cold!!! it never warmed up!!! we called at night and they said they could move us, but they wouldnt promise it would be any warmer. so then why would we move it it wont be warmer. then they said the manager would call us, but a month later, they still havent! so are romantic getaway was spent in an igloo!
