DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY HERE
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/03/08
Hotel is old and run down, rooms are dirty, housekeeping is a joke. Bed in my room was broken and sagged in the midldle. Breakfast in the morning is pathetic, they had applesauce, fruit cocktail, stale muffins. Only 10 tv channels. Internet is a slowwwwww wireless.

I should have read the reviews before...................
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/03/08
The location really isn't good. We wished we had done better research and read the reviews. There are so many nicer hotels located closer to intercourse and bird in hand (great amish communities). Parking sounds great but you have to pay $8.00 per night in the garage.... Yeah.. didn't know that before...The Pool was nice, but strange.. 3rd floor. NO FITNESS CENTER... Was closed. Our TV in our room was so small and made such a bad noise that TV was kind of a joke. The Free wireless internet kept kicking us off. It was no used to using your computer.. Thank God for GPS.. The neighbor hood is kind of different. Everything closes early. I guess you pay for what you get... Cheap is cheap.. You pay for what you get. Overall Lancaster is awesome and close to so much..Thankfully we had so much to do outside of our hotel. The hotel really should finish the renovations before renting out half completed rooms..or let people know when they are booking their room. Just stay in a better location in Lancaster.. I would not stay at this place again.. I would pay more and stay at the Best Western.

nice hotel/bad location
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 02/19/08
The hotel it self is very nice, the renovations they have done to the hotel so far are great. I was impressed, the service was wonderful, everyone was very pleasant and very helpful. The only thing I can complain about is the location. This hotel is in Downtown Lancaster, off the beat and trail, we had a very hard time finding our way there or anywhere else for that matter. Seemed to be in a really bad location. Your parking as well is bad, the only parking offered is under a building with a 6'9 Clearance so if you have a large truck like we do, be careful, each time pulling in, our truck antenna was knocked around and we were waiting for the top of our truck to bescraped against the top of the building. Overall I believe this is a great place for Singles or just couples. Not much is offered for small children here. A lot of night life.

No way - no stay again
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 01/21/07
As a passenger on a tour bus we arrived tired and looking for a good night's sleep. We entered the lobby and knew we would not get that. In fact, one comment was if we had come here first, before the theater, we would not have come back. The lobby was horrible, we had people in wheelchairs and the access to the elevator was locked. It took about 15 minutes for someone to come unlock it. We got to the rooms and the first thing one of my roommates did was check the sheets, under the beds, etc. to make sure there were no creepies staying there. She had stayed in a hotel in Fla. that was horrible but she said this was worse. For a place that has as many visitors as Lancaster this was a disgrace. We decided to go the lobby and have a drink to calm our nerves. Needless to say we never got one. The bartender was at the front desk talking and never once looked at the bar to see if there were customers. We waited 1/2 hour and then decided it wasn't worth it. Others in our party were kept awake by voices outside, fights and police cruisers blaring their sirens. My advice - find a different hotel to stay in. There are enough in Lancaster to choose from. If this is their idea of renovation forget it. If you go on a bus trip and this hotel is chosen please try to get your guide to book a different one. I won't even give this one star.

BAD BAD BAD
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 01/04/07
We chose the hotel because it is in the city. Then, we get in our room, and it is freezing so we call to the lobby to tell them and they tell us, turn it on and let it warm up. so, we went out drinking and chose this place so we can drink and walk back. but it was sooooo cold!!! it never warmed up!!! we called at night and they said they could move us, but they wouldnt promise it would be any warmer. so then why would we move it it wont be warmer. then they said the manager would call us, but a month later, they still havent! so are romantic getaway was spent in an igloo!

Stay as far away as possible!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/21/06
My husband and I stayed there on our wedding night. The hotel was conveniently located a few minutes from our reception site (the gorgeous Rock Ford Plantation), so even though we knew it was a bit run-down, we thought we give it a shot. What a mistake! The room reaked, the AC didn't work (and it was the middle of summer!), everything was dirty, and the staff was of no help at all. So, at 2 am, I packed up my wedding gown and we headed home. What an awful place and I'm embarrassed that some of my guests stayed there. Never, EVER, EVER stay there!

worst place to stay in lancaster pa
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/07/06
Booked a block of 20 rooms in spring of 2006 for a wedding in Nov 2006..big mistake..besides customer service being nonexistant..none of the amenities as stated existed. The so called honeymoon suite was never cleaned having dirty wet towels, old soap and water in the tub...to say nothing of the fact the heater[air conditioner knob was gone ] could not be turned down from high. Each room either had heat you couldn't adjust or air conditioning you could not adjust. Rooms were not ready..there was no breakfast facilities...cups but no coffee..resteraunt was closed all weekend..rooms for the rest of our quests were just as bad... the service desk was horrible..I have stayed many places over the years this makes the list for the worst.. no where close to being worth the price they charge to stay ..

1-Star only because "0" isn't allowed
By Andrew, 10/20/06
Where to begin.... I'm sitting in this absolutely awful hotel as I write this review. My wife and I are staying here only because a group she belongs to is holding it's convention here. I had read the reviews and really tried to talk my wife out of staying here, but she wanted to be with her freinds (fair enough). She had talked with the convention coordinator, or someone in charge, and was assurred that all the rooms had been renovated and the service had been upgraded. We checked in yesterday and were given a room with two double beds -- when we had requested s single king bed. The room was dark (two lights didn't work) and smelly. The desk staff didn't seem to understand why that may be a problem. We did get a different room with a king bed on a different floor, and to be fair, it was much better, although still bad. Last night I sat on my desk chair for the first time to use the computer the chair exploded underneath me -- I will grant that I am not a small individual, but this was a new experience. I called the front desk and a new chair was brought up, but with no apologies. Looking at the new chair today, I saw that it too was cracked and would give way if I used it. To heck with that...I asked the front desk if they had any stronger metal chairs and was greeted with abosolute indifference ("Oh we don't have anything like that available"). I went to one of the conference rooms on the second floor and took one of the hundreds of metal chairs up to my room. We had breaskfast in the hotel restaurant, which may giving it too much credit. Another experience to remember. It wasn't busy, but after 15 minutes we still didn't have menus. One of our companions went and got them herself. After another 10 minutes our waitess showed up to take our order. Let's just say I'm still waiting for the glass of water I asked for. One of the very few times in my life I haven't left a tip. The hotel bar closes at 9pm during the week and the restaurant isn't open for lunch -- maybe that's a good thing. It's after 4pm and our room still hasn't received maid service. We've had to call down to the desk to demand, and I mean demand that it be taken care of now. I am usually in favor of preserving older buildings, but this hotel should be torn down and turned into a parking lot. We'll be checking out and going to a new hotel shortly.

A real dissapointment
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/15/06
The picture made it looke like a great place to stay. We anticipated our 3 night stay in the area. What a dissapointment. It is an old hotel. The hall smells dank. The pool was very cold and the chlorine level was so high my eyes burned for hours. No continental breakfast. Extra for parking. Staff was helpful, but it didn't make up for all the other downers.
