Village Green Resort, Cottage Grove

a resort this is definitly not. We purchased this online and the pictures amazing and we were very excited to stay here ( on our honeymoon ). We pull in and the grounds are like the pictures. We walk into the lobby which is pleasent and we are greeted by a very pleasent person at the lobby. We get out roo. Key and drive around to where are room was. From wine country to Norman bates motel in a blink of an eye. Went from wow to hurry honey lock the door. I am very certain that every thing in that room was older than me and was definitly not the room in the picture. I went to the lobby to try and see about an upgrade. Again the staff pleasent and tried to be accomodating and let me look at a couple other rooms (also not remodeled ) and we did choose to move to one of them because it did have newer carpet and a new tv however everything else was still old and creepy. We went to the lovley wallmart next door ( not lovley!!! ) and purchased bedding pillows and towels!!!! The matress was made in hell! I had the worst sleep I've had since I had the flu!! We had our room booked for two days but left after night one. Packed and on the road and out of there by 7 am. I implore anyone that is thinking about staying here to absolutley make sure you get one o the few remodeled rooms!! Otherwise your just another victim of nice pictures and broken promises! On a side note the bar is wonderful and the restraunt while a little outdated was very good. So I would recomend going here to hang out in the bar but never and I mean never stay here!!

Been here before and still is great! Wonderful guestrooms with garden patios.. exceptional food.. outstanding breakfast, beautiful gardens.. A must if traveling Seattle south or San Fran North..

Excellent service. outstanding food. wonderful guestrooms with not the average hotel room furniture.. We enjoyed the gardens and the employees were exceptional. They have live entertainment in the lounge every night.. Great time! Would definately stay again!

In July we spent a week visiting family in Cottage Grove, the hotel was wonderful. The food was great, the kids loved the pool, we will be staying there again next year.

My husband and I recently stayed at Village Green for 4 nights in one of their remodeled rooms and enjoyed our stay immensely. The room was very cozy with a fireplace, down comforter on the bed, and its own private patio with some flowers. When we had a minor maintanence issue, I called the front desk and they were there to fix it in less than 5 minutes. Their were also acres and acres of gardens which were just wonderful to wander around in. Our package included a free dinner in the restaurant. The food and service was wonderful. We had breakfast each morning in the restaurant. Even though the food was only pretty good, due to the friendly staff and nice ambience we very much looked forward to breakfast each morning. There was also a computer with internet access as well as wifi in the lobby and lounge. I can't remember staying in a place that we enjoyed more and felt more taken care of than we did at Village Green.

I was very unhappy with my stay. There was not a working heater in the room. I was told by the staff and other customers booked into the hotel that this is a problem that the hotel knows about but rents the rooms anyway. There is a small block of rooms that have been refurbished but there are others that are inhabitlable. The temperatures were below freezing and we were without a heater. They did give us a small space heater that apparantle was the last one that they had and laughed when I complained the next day. I am from the Cottage Grove area and would never allow any of my family or friends to stay at this hotel.

The grounds are outstanding. The new rooms are great. Staff is helpful, and friendly, The have done a lot of work on the place and it is looking real nice.
