Bad experience
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/10/09
Reservation was wrong though original reservation was confirmed at check in. Went to rooms expecting to see what I reserved but didn't so went back downstairs. We were finally told "we tried to figure it out this morning but there are people in the rooms you reserved." Restaurant overpriced and very noisy from bar that is open to the restaurant. Checked out without eating 30 mins after checking in and then waited again because they were requested from the frotn desk to bring our car around but forgot! The place seemed clean and is a good location but that is all that is good about it. No personality is a good way to describe all the staff. On and (quickly) off smiles, no welcoming attitude from anyone. We had thought to try a new place in Portland but went to our favorite, a Marriott just a few blocks away and were accommodated with almost open arms. Lesson learned...change is not always necessary or good!

Close but no cigar!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 1/26/06
Good: cost and location; convenient bar and restaurant; service including baggage storage and information. Not great: a bit shabby; my wife might have found it a little dirty; food at restaurant only OK. Poor: computer in lobby (still, good it existed).

Bad choice
By Mike C, 10/10/05
Shower oveflowed (drain fixtures not working),no remorse from the desk when told at check-out. Eight dollars to park. Window had to be propped open with a book to get fresh air, (all other rooms did the same thing), no AC, place is sub-standard from what one would expect in the City Center, very disappointed. Bed sheets not contour, pulled loose, very scratchy and old, mattress soft. Only good feature is the location, within walking distance of Performing Arts Center. Would not recommend this hotel to anyone nor will I stay there again. I don't fill out most of these reviews, am usually happy with a clean, standard room where things work. This place is so bad I had to let people know.

Confort

I thought my stay with my family was wonderful. The service was really great and the people were very accommodating. The floor manager on the 4th floor I really liked. This person was very helpful and understanding. Plus, always had a smile. Gayle Allen

Nightmare in Portland, Or. continued
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 6/1/05
The price that I was quoted on the web page was NOT the price that I was charged. They didn't mention until after I had checked in that there would be a $8.00 charge to park my vehicle in THEIR parking lot. Where do they expect you to park when you stay in their motel???

Nightmare in Portland, Oregon
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 6/1/05
My likes were, The staff was friendly, The restaurant waiter and waitresses were excellent, and the food was good. My dislikes were, The picture of the motel that is posted on the web must be worth something, because it is an antique. the motel doesn't look nothing like the picture. I was awakened all during the night by someone beating on (what sounded like pipes).Around 11:00 pm, I was awakened by (what sounded like a rat chewing on wood) Around 2:00 am I was awakened by the couple in the next room, (I heard everything, including the squeaky bed springs). Someone in another room coughed all night, around 4:00 am the backup alarm on the delivery truck awakened me. and I had a awake up call for 6:45 am. I was awake long before the wake up call. I didn't get any rest. I complained to the desk clerk, they said," they were sorry"

ok
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/20/04
The hotel was pretty nice except for 2 major issues: There was an overnight parking fee of $8/night that was not advertised and really made me angry. Also, the hotel restaurant was filled with cigarette smoke and we ended up not eating there because of that! Otherwise it was anice place and located in downtown whcih was nice.
