Crowne Plaza Dublin, Dublin

We were going to the Columbus area for a family wedding, and I found this hotel online through Travelocity. The hotel is very nice, very quiet, with comfortable rooms, super comfy beds, a courtyard and a good restaurant. What made the experience memorable for us in particular, though, was the staff. It was by far the best guest service we've ever received at any hotel. The people at the desk were incredibly attentive. Our air conditioning wasn't coming on when we first got into our room; we called the desk and they had a tech in our room within 10 minutes--he was very nice and had the unit going in another 5. Another time, we had a bottle of wine and had forgotten a corkscrew; we called the desk and within minutes a smiling woman from room service was outside our door, corkscrew in hand. Both times, whomever was at the desk at the time of our requests called our room to make sure we'd gotten what we needed. Maybe this is typical of Crowne Plaza hotels--if so, no wonder they have a good reputation. I saw a negative review of guest services from a few years back, but I can promise you that whatever issues existed back then, they're definitely in the past. Really great experience. Also, the location is terrific--stores close by and just a hop onto the interstate or to downtown historic Dublin. One tip: We were there 4th of July, and Dublin really gets into the fireworks and festivities, so don't expect to eat out in downtown Dublin on the night of the 4th--most of the businesses and restaurants shut down so local folks can enjoy the day.

Hotel was easy to find and in a very nice area. Had easy access to the highway. There were several restaurants close by and many more within a short driving distance. We stayed while we visited Quarter Horse Congress, COSI, and the zoo. All three places were very easy to reach from the hotel. As for the hotel. The beds and pillows were wonderful. The room was big. And I felt it was clean and in no need of repairs. We were also placed on the "quiet zone" floor which was nice. I have never been in such a quiet hotel. The staff was very friendly and helpful. No complaints there. The only dislike with the hotel was that the pool was too cold. So for the price, I think the hotel was a great pick.

The party was wonderful thanks to the wonderful event staff! The ballroom looked great and was set up as planned. During the event staff kept the food and drinks fresh. They cut and served the cake. The DJ (Platinum Music Productions) kept the kids dancing all night. I booked two hotel rooms for that night. The beds were the best. I would recommend this hotel for any event that you would like to plan and not spend the entire time of the event running around doing things because the staff handles everything so that you can sit down and enjoy the party!

This will be a two part review. One for the pre-party experience and one for the actual event. I am planning my daughters sweet 16 birthday party here. I looked at several locations in the Dublin area(Columbus Zoo, Embassey Suites, Bridgewater Banquet and Conference center)and chose this location for several reasons. First was the staff. Everyone has been very helpful, attentive and friendly. Location, amenities, food and price were also important. Crown Plaza recently took over this location and has upgraded just about everything. So far, I have had no complaints and am very happy with the service and facility.

Made a verbal reservation for one night for two rooms. They charged me for two nights and said I didn't show up. Credit sided with them as I had no proof.

It is good for business travellers. I dislike that the restaurans close early at night
