STAY AWAY
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 8/24/09
I won't comment on the tired interior, the one elevator out of three that worked or the lack of value for the money. Unfortunately, these are common themes at many venues. What I will warn you of, however, is that undisclosed to us, the Hotel books a rock/dance band to perform until 11:00 on Friday and Saturday nights on its outside pool patio. HALF of it's rooms face this area and, from one who stayed on the second floor, you might as well have been backstage at your local concert arena. Good luck finding a parking space in the same zip code as well. It's a shame because this is a great location in relation to UD but there are other spots nearly as good. I'd advise looking into them. As to the Dayton Marriott - STAY AWAY.

Most people should know by now!!!
By Nikki, 3/16/08
It really boggles the mind when people complain about this hotel. I think that its great!!! Sure they charge for internet but if you look at...MOST MARRIOTT FULL SERVICES DO!!! IF YOU WANT FREE INTERNET THEY STAY AT A FAIRFIELD INN, COURTYARD, OR RESIDENCE INN!!! STOP COMPLAINING!!

Great!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/19/07
I really enjoyed it everything was wonderful and clean and beautiful! Whoever said you have to go through a bad part of town to get there off of the highway is either blind, or just trying to be rude because you don't even go through a residential area! Just office buildings and UD arena! They are lovely there!

Poor value
By N5GAR, 6/20/07
For the amount they charge, I expect more. I've received a lot more when paying a lot less, like free Internet access. There are additional charges for that in the rooms and NO Internet available in the lobby. It proved to be a poor value, overall, and I won't be returning. Another reviewer commented about customers' use of luggage carts, and I agree. They lock them up in a room next to the front door. They did let me borrow one to handle my own luggage. I always handle my own luggage. I remained standing at the front desk until my request was complied with. They said they locked them up in the closet to keep children from playing with them. I suspect it is to protect the interest of bell men, who expect us to wait in line for their services. I rate my overall experience as "poor."

DIRTY, RUDE AND INCONSIDERATE!
By JULIE, 6/7/07
WARNING! When you arrive at the Marriott, even if your room has been paid for in full, they will require a $30 per night deposit for "incidentals." For me, that meant running a debit card for $180 that did not get credited back to the account until after my stay. When we protested that they had not given us any notice of that type of charge, they told us in a very rude manner that if we wanted to stay there, we had to pay the deposit. They also refused to credit it back at $30 per day, which at least would have helped. I couldn't even afford to buy dinner the last night because of this. Also, they had a soccer tournament going on and there were kids running up and down the halls screaming and playing soccer until near midnight, and the staff would not do anything about it. Very difficult to deal with when you are trying to work. Toilet paper holder was broken, curtains were filthy, floor was filthy, A/C did not work well, room was constantly humid... I would avoid this Marriott at all costs!!

I Wouldn't Go Back, No Way
By Sheila, 10/24/06
Let's discuss what I disliked: 1.Getting there you needed to go through a bad part of town when you get off the highway. 2.My 3rd floor room looked over the lower floor's roof which was noisy all night long. 3.You could hear train whistles all night long, from when you went to sleep till you woke up! Which I didn't get hardly any sleep. 4.First night, the toilet would not stop running, sounded like Niagara Falls! Friday afternoon they came to fix and it took 2 guys to do it. 5.Minor, yet irritating,Toilet paper holder was broken. 6.Floor lamp didn't work, while I waited for guys to fix toilet, I moved the furniture to find that the lamp wasn't even plugged in. 7.Wanted to use the Luggage cart when I was leaving, but Bellman was really rude and said "It's my job to do it" so of course I had to tip the guy, even though I already had the help I needed from my fiance. 8.The towels were too rough. 9.The restaurant was very SLOW... we waited 1.5hrs for our food, and when we got it, my meatballs were burnt and my fiance's sausage was burnt.
