DoubleTree by Hilton Cleveland - Independence, Independence

THis hotel was recommended by a youth hockey tournament. The accomadations were not what I expected from a Hilton Family Hotel. We were not given the option for a smoke free room...it smelled so bad. Beds were comfy, except when you are told there would be King...and you walk in and see 2 doubles, I was a bit dissappointed. The other problem I had, was that the pillows and bedding were stuffed with down. Most people would enjoy that completely...however when you are allergic to down, it made my stay a bit interesting. The pool facilities were good...hot tub was a bit too hot. Restaurant in hotel WAS NOT at all child friendly...they created a buffet especially for the kids...at $12.95 each, the kids had asked for seperate checks...the hostess handed the coach a bill for all. That wasn't the worst part...then they wouldn't seperate the bill out for the kids, and she figured in a tip of 3 bucks each. When the coach asked to have a reciept, the hostess said sure but it will take a few minutes. She wouldn't do that for the kids... If you have children, or a group of children with you, DO NOT STAY HERE. They are not friendly to children!!!
