I booked it, my husband like it
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 5/27/10
Despite the negative reviews I took a chance and booked three rooms for my husband and the friends he was travelling with. I was nervous until he called me that night and said it was a nice place and that the rooms were clean. His response,"It's a Days Inn, of course it's nice". He did say the next morning it was a little noisy, but that's because it was near a base and a troop was just welcomed back to town. Nothing bad, though. They ended up only staying one night and Courtney, a wonderful staff member, was so patient to work with me and get my credit card credited back for a days rate for the rooms. I cannot say enough good things about it. I didn't see it for myself, but if my husband was happy with it, then it means

DO NOT STAY HERE!!!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 1/13/10
Me and my wife were traveling from New York with our 1yr old daughter back to Jacksonville. We got into town around 5am. It was a long road trip in the car and all we wanted to do was check into the nearest hotel and go to sleep in a nice bed. I drove us to this hotel and my wife went and got us a room. It was a Saturday and my wife specificly told the women checking us in we needed the room until Monday mourning. So we were charged around $80 close to $90 dollars. From this point we were given a hotel room that was already occupied, after we drove to the oposite side of the hotel, unpacked our bags, and I woke up my 1yr old who was crying because once we walked all our stuff to the door we couldnt get in. So we had to repack the car drive back to the front desk, get another room and unpack the room all over again. This was very miserable and the freezing cold weather didnt help. But we finally got into a room that had a door that we had to almost kick in every time we wanted to enter it because it would jam everytime we closed it and we got into bed and passed out. Not more then 4hrs later we get the startling surprise of house keeping busting her way thru the door because she didnt know the room was occupied, which shows poor communication between the staff. Then not long after that the maintenance man comes busting in the door because he claim to not know the room was occupied. So after that we decided to get up and shower so we could start the day. While doing this we started getting calls from house keeping telling us that we had to pay more money because we only paid for one night. We couldnt believe this cus we had only been there for about 5hrs. My wife and I were outragged but we didnt want to keep moving all our stuff so we paid another $80 dollars when we had only been there for 5hrs. But before we could get ready the hotel kept harrassing us to come pay before 12pm We were about 5 rooms down from the front desk and we just paid 5hrs prior. They saw us unpack everything, so we found this to be very upsetting that they couldnt wait a couple minutes. It was about 45 minutes before 12pm when I went and paid for another night. I thought this was very unsenseable and I do not advise anyone to stay at this hotel. Oh and after being harrassed about the money for another night we never saw house keeping again for clean towels or anything. After we checked out we went down the street to Sunset Inn. It was cheaper and had the same quality of rooms but we didnt have to break the door down to get into our room and we always had fresh towels and the staff was very nice and had great communication. Days Inn is a over priced ripp off and I do not advise anyone to stay there!

NOT A KID FRIENDLY PLACE...WAS AWFUL !!!!!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/22/09
I stayed here with our 2 children ages 7 and 8 while we were in town attending our oldest sons graduation from Camp Geiger..it was the worst place I have ever stayed in.. We checked in and were told our room was outback (the room was not even connectd to the main hotel) the wooden door looked like somebody had busted in and the lock was reattached to the door...the toliet paper holder fell out of the wall...every time we left and came back we wer greeted with little business cards that offered 24 hour escort service (which my children found and wondered why a naked girl was on a card)..we had 3 different cards left at our door...then my children wondered why people were trying to scare them by pounding on the walls all night....I am not a super picky person but this place was AWFUL....I was almost to the point that we would have been better off sleeping in the car..dont go alone here or with small children...

By A Yahoo! Contributor, 3/15/09
This place was terrible. Worst customer service I have ever received. We were visiting my brother returning from Iraq and somehow my son caught lice after the stay here.

Perfect Stay
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 1/5/08
We recently stayed at the Days Inn in Jacksonville, NC and made the reservation on short notice. The attendant was very helpful and polite. She book our reservation over the phone and when we arrived late the day of our stay she assisted us by giving us directions to Wal Mart and other places that we were going. The room was very clean, so clean in fact that I never used my lysol that I always take with me when we go on trips. Also we walked around the room without shoes on because it was so clean. We will stay there again. Brenda--Georgia

Awful
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 8/9/07
My room was filthy. The bed sheets and pillow cases had stains all over them. There was only one person working, and was not at all concerned with my feelings towards the room. I would not recomend staying at the Days Inn.
