Islander Suites, Emerald Isle

This was a cozy little room that was clean. It was updated. The small pull out sofa was more comfortable than the beds. The kitchen was a disappointment, no stove, just a microwave, tiny fridge and some cabinets. There was a moldy smell that made all of us sick and we all felt like we were getting upper respiratory infections. I would say they needed to clean their airconditioner filters. The beach access was nice and the pool was nice. There was plenty of parking and parking was close to the room, but no elevator for the second floor and was a hassle lugging all our luggage to our room up those stairs. There was nice areas to sit on the deck outside our room, but you have to share with others. There was a laundry facility and it was just ok. The internet didn't work in our room and we had to go out on the deck to get on our laptop. This was a hassle and Very disappointing! The hotel does have a little store where you can buy a few things you may need. The beach was one of the cleanest I have been to. I would definitly go back and visit Emerald Isle again. It was beautiful. The overall stay in the Islander was a good experience. We only stayed for 3 days and then went onto Myrtle Beach and the respitory problems left when we left the Islander in a day or so. Someone definitly needs to clean the air conditioner filters.

After a few years of staying at Holiday Trav-L park which we loved we found out last year that it was cheaper to stay at a hotel. I actually just found this place by total accident. I must say some things are definitely better found by mistake!! I absolutely love this hotel!! The rooms are very clean and tidy, the hotel staff was very helpful but yet weren't the kind that was all up in your business. Even though we couldn't see the beach from our room, we were, however, on the first floor and you pretty much walk out your door and and you're on the beach.. you walk right down the hotel owned side walk and you're there! Couldn't be of anymore convenience!!! Definitely would recommend this to anyone!! it's absolutely wonderful and it was newly renovated when we went! The price was very affordable and we even got to enjoy "Bear Island" and "Cape lookout" with the money we saved!! Hopefully we'll get to stay there this year!!!

I can't think of one bad thing to say about this place, my husband and I truely enjoyed our stay. The rooms are awesome, spacious, and super clean. The experience we had at this hotel was wonderful, the employees were very friendly and helpful (especially when a storm came thru and knocked all the power out). If you really just need to get away or just want to have a mini honeymoon Islander Suites is the place to be. For an very reasonable prices and great customer service this hotel has a five star rating to me just without the five star price. The Islander Suites is a must visit hotel to experience when visting Emerald Isle. I'll give it two thumbs up!! :)

We spent a very nice weekend on the beach at the Islander. It was clean, safe, and priced very nice. Manager Walter was a great help. Try it...

We stayed here for almost a week, and it was awesome. The pool by the ocean with the cabanas was great. The rooms are clean, the housekeeping staff is very nice and funny!. And the front desk staff seemed to know everything about the area. It did seem to get a little loud outside one night, but the security guard took care of it. My family loves this place. Good job.

If you are from out of town (other places that do not have beaches), these suites are very nice, well kept, and worth the stay! If you are looking for a hotel with absolutely no dirt (beach sand) then go somewhere else. This is a beach hotel that is very respectful, professional, and worth the money. If you are cheap enough to book your wedding here you are looking for a short commitment, sorry, but the truth. Very fun place with lots to do.

Stayed two nights in July, 2009. Clean, Attractive, right on the Beach. Really enjoyed staying here. Plan to go back.

Loved the way the room was set up. Very clean, friendly staff. The room had been recently updated and as you walk in has that new smell to it. I would recommend staying here and will definately stay here again. The only thing I didn't like about the place was the fact that it is directly beside a public beach access. I just wished that the Marines would act like the care about the public and stop acting like they own the place with there drunken brawls with each other. Don't they get enough of that stuff in the war zone. Another bad point is the fact that the parking passes were not enforced. If you are going to require a pass to park within the limits of the hotel then the vehicles without them should be towed off.

My husband and I went on a last minute romantic beach getaway and wanted to stay in Emerald Isle, on the beach, without renting a condo for the week...to our luck, the Islander, the only hotel on the beach in Emerald Isle, had vacancy and was only $90 a night! Clean, safe, manager and all staff friendly...beautiful, comfortable and newly renovated room with 2 flat screen tv's...on the beach, Huge pool, work-out room.....We will be back and I was super excited to find this hidden gem on the beach!!!!!

My husband and I took a much needed "getaway" trip. Wow....this was the place for us. Not fancy but clean, peaceful and what an ocean view. We just wanted to kick back, enjoy the beach and ride up and down the coast to see the local culture. Best place to eat breakfast was the Four Corners diner in Emerald Isle. For dinner, go to Moorehead City ( The Sanitary Fish Market/Restaurant). Plenty of Beach/surf shops and fast food. This area is not fancy. However, if you want upscale accommodations you may want to stay at a hotel. We loved our experience at the Islander. Our room was neat, clean and very accommodating for us. Not a bunch of parting and noise, more family orientated. We came off season so not much extra going on. We did not require assistance from the management so I can't comment on that. Overall,l I can say we will be back. Remember, we came for the Ocean......and the sunset.
