Townsend Manor Inn, Greenport

Great place to stay. Be be mindful that you may be sharing your room with a former resident. Voices in the night (and day), lights that go on and off and no its not the old electric in the building. This all really happened. Happened to me and to my friends that were in the room below us also. So if your up for the adventure and the high price for the room... I say go for it !

I love this place! It is not fancy but I love the feel of the rooms in the Gingerbread House. The rooms are small but ithat is part of the charm. I never want to leave Greenport or the Towsend

The overall ambiance of Townsend Manor Inn is one of pristine beauty. Located at the heart of the quaint fishing village of Greenport at the end of Long Island it is a perfect location for all occasions.

We could not believe what we saw when we arrived. Pretty setting and some charm but don't be mislead, the accommodations were surprizingly run down! It could use a make over.

The place was an absolute dump. We stayed in the cottages and the room was so small it was unreal. The bathroom faucets and shower bar were rusted. One of the window blinds was broken. There was no light in the closet so I could not see what I was doing when I tried to unpack my clothes. The pool was dirty, there was garbage and a cigar on the floor and the tables at the pool were stained and didn't look like they were wiped down for awhile. Everything was old, warn out and in need of repair. The only thing that was good was the breakfast. How this hotel could be rated with four and half stars in beyond my comprehension.
