Bed bugs! bloody bed sheets
By Susan, 4/13/12
I love the location however the bed bugs, cleaness, bloody specs of blood on the bed sheets, house keeping on phone for their personal use bottered by customer like myself interupting and not helpful. I was most dispointed with the foront manager by the name Armis, his response to me was, " WE DONT HAVE BED BUGS HERE! IT'S THE GUEST WHO BRINGS IN THE BED BUG TO THIS HOTEL!" He also said since you booked through EXPECIA, it's a third party and we can not help you there. So basicly I was treated as third calss citizen and humiliated from of people at the lobby. I feel Mr Armis was very unprofessional and he belongs to another job no way near hotel. Shame on Sheraton Hotel to hire someone like Mr Armis as their front dest Manager!!!

NEVER AGAIN
By Ericka, 4/5/12
This is the WORSE hotel ever. The service was horrible from the front desk to the maid service. Let's not even talk about the room, it looked half clean and the bathroom was worse. The only good thing about this place is the location if, you can deal the all the rest. If you have a customer service expectation don't stay here!!

awful experience
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 1/7/12
This was a disaster from the moment we checked in. We were suppossed to have "club level" rooms, but were told during checkin that none were available, however they would upgrade us to a "bigger room". This room was smaller than a cruise ship room. There were 3 of us. (Husband, wife and 16 year old daughter). Couldn't walk in front of beds without turning sideways. We asked if there were any bigger rooms, told no all were same size. Next day the room across the hall was being cleaned and it was twice the size of ours. It wasn't a suite, just a room with 2 double beds and much more space. Service was horrible, not one washcloth to be found in the whole place. Maids told us," sorry we are all out". Everyone was so rude and I will never stay at another Sheraton Hotel anywhere again. Disliked everything and liked nothing. Ruined our 5 day trip

Excellent Location but Too Cramped Rooms
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/2/10
My family of 5 - two adults and 3 kids (8, 5 and 3 yr old) -- stayed in the hotel over the Thanksgiving weekend. Loved the location as it is right near Times Square, a short walk to the Rockefeller Center, and lots of restaurants. We stayed in the 28th floor and the view was incredible. But the room is absolutely cramped. When I called to make the reservation and told them how many we are, we were told that we could fit in a room with double beds. There was hardly any space for cabinets and luggages, and we could barely walk in the aisle of the room. We should have taken the suite, which was never pitched to us. So we had to request for an extra bed, which left hardly any space at all in the room. To walk from one end of the room to the other, it was easier to just walk over the beds. You can't even pull out the chair and expect to have room to walk on. The bathroom is also very very tiny. And old. Ours made an odd rickety sound when flushing. To compensate for their small space, customer service is excellent, from the bellboys to the concierge to the front desk. If we go back to NYC, we'd definitely be staying in a hotel with a bigger space than Sheraton. It is ideal for a single person or couple at most, but not families

GREAT Employees Very Helpful
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 6/7/10
I would highly recommend this hotel. The consier's very friendly and helped us find good places to eat at decent prices and good food. They helped us find everything we were looking for. I have been to alot of expensive hotels but I have to say that it was well worth the money. Two blocks from Time Square and easy walking to catch the hop on hop off buses subways and other buses.

fantastic!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 4/2/10
After reading the reviews on this hotel the negative views stuck in my mind and worried me thinking what we were going to find when we arrived. WELL I CAN TELL YOU I WORRIED FOR NO REASON WHAT SO EVER. We arrieved at 1pm to no queues at check in, the lady on receptions was very pleasent explained everything and even gave us advice not to use the hotel phone for out going calls as it would of been very expensive, she advised us to buy a phone card for the call boxes instead. We had the option of a bell boy to take up our luggage. The room was very clean and had everything you would expect of high class hotel, the rooms are not massive but we knew that before we travelled. The view from our window was out on 7th ave and we could view the mama mia theatre just along from times square. The concierge were friendly and answered all of questions and gave us lots of advice. the lobby and bar areas were a great place to hang out whilst waiting for our fellow travelers. There are so many attractions close to the hotel that you dont have to walk far and if you want to take any bus tours they stop less than a 3 minute walk away from the hotel (at the mama mia theatre). We retired to our beds the first evening and it was the best nights sleep ive ever had as the beds and the pillows were like heaven. To top of our stay on the last day we left our luggage with the concierge and told him what time we would return for our taxi back to airport, he told us he could arrange transport for us at a cost of $75, which we happily took (as we paid $83 in a taxi for our arrival) upon our return we were greeted by the concierge who took us to our vehicle which turned out to be a limo, we were very happily suprised as it made the perfect ending to a perfect trip. we stayed here for 5 days and would very happily say we will stay here again, dont let any of the negative comments put you off.

Excellent Location, Friendly Staff, Great Hotel
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/1/09
As first time visitors to New York City, we really enjoyed the location of this hotel. It is within easy walking distance of many popular attractions (Central Park, Broadway, Times Square, Rockefeller Center), and there is a subway station just steps from the front entrance for when you want to explore other locations in the city. This hotel met all of our needs during our stay. It is safe, clean, and comfortable which is what we were looking for after a long day of sight seeing. We ordered dinner from room service and the meal was delicious. I most definitely recommend this hotel to others, and would stay here again myself.

We can't wait to go back!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 8/4/09
Before our departure I decided to read some of the reviews on this hotel. We had our reservation and some of the reviews did not look good. We took our chances and went. We were greeted at the desk by a front desk clerck named Griffin. What a great guy. We stayed there for 3 days and 2 nights. It was fantastic. The room was great. I never care about the size. I just sleep there. It was clean and full of all your needs for a hotel room. The staff were extremely gracious and friendly. The location is perfect. When we go back, we will definatly stay at the same hotel. Don't read the negative reviews. It sounds like they were writen by bunch of never pleased people. If any concelation, I thought as a middle eastern man I should expect the worst treatment and the staff proofed me wrong. Thanks for a great service and a great place.

HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE.
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 7/1/09
This was the worst hotel stay I have ever had, and I am certainly disappointed given the standard of Sheraton hotels that I have come to expect as a frequent traveler. I arrived in mu room to be greeted by the smell of smoke in this "smoke free" hotel. After informing the front desk, I was told there was nothing that could be done, but they may be able to move me to another room in a couple of days. I visited the drug store a block away and got some Febreeze and opened the window to air out the room. Upon my return, I attempted to adjust the temperature controls, which were broken. I was able to adjust the "fan" speed on the wall unit, but not the temperature itself. Two days later I was provided with a fan, and in the meantime was miserable. Even with the fan, it was still hot enough in the room that I had a great deal of trouble sleeping throughout the stay. Eventually, a call was placed to the manager, who assured me an engineer would be up to take a look at the AC unit promptly...I never saw him. Breakfast was ordered the night before and never received. The manager apologized profusely and informed me that he would clear the room service bill to date (not even the equivalent of one night's cost of a six night stay) and upon preparing to check out, found that this was not done either. Customer service was not in the vocabulary. Repeated commitments were made and never followed through with. There are much better hotels in the area at comparable prices. I ave stayed at the Hampton Inn, the Doubletree...and even the Ritz at Battery Park had comparable pricing, none of which I have ever had such issues with. Do yourself a favor and explore your options.

Definitely not a 4 star hotel
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 4/10/09
I travel to NYC at least once a year, but this time around decided to bring the family along. We booked our four nights stay at the Sheraton relying on this hotel's reputation. I should have checked the reviews on this site before booking. All these claims are true and then some. These rooms were not only tiny and uncomfortable but filthy. There were ants crawling in the outdated bathrooms, dust everywhere, uncomfortable double beds (not suited to sleep two people), trash bags left overnight on the corridor (right outside our room) and zero customer service! The rooms are extremely noisy. You can hear everything, so we had to put the comforter against the door to try to minimize the noise. NYC is such a fabulous destination and this hotel's location is fantastic, but there are many others. When seeking a lousy map of the city the women standing right beside the concierge who had a line of people waiting for him, would not even give me a map! Had to walk to the Hilton and get one!! Simply put, do NOT spend your money on this hotel. The Sheraton is resting on its laurels but with this economy they need to clean up their act...literally.
