Excellent Location but Too Cramped Rooms
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/2/10
My family of 5 - two adults and 3 kids (8, 5 and 3 yr old) -- stayed in the hotel over the Thanksgiving weekend. Loved the location as it is right near Times Square, a short walk to the Rockefeller Center, and lots of restaurants. We stayed in the 28th floor and the view was incredible.
But the room is absolutely cramped. When I called to make the reservation and told them how many we are, we were told that we could fit in a room with double beds. There was hardly any space for cabinets and luggages, and we could barely walk in the aisle of the room. We should have taken the suite, which was never pitched to us.
So we had to request for an extra bed, which left hardly any space at all in the room. To walk from one end of the room to the other, it was easier to just walk over the beds. You can't even pull out the chair and expect to have room to walk on.
The bathroom is also very very tiny. And old. Ours made an odd rickety sound when flushing.
To compensate for their small space, customer service is excellent, from the bellboys to the concierge to the front desk.
If we go back to NYC, we'd definitely be staying in a hotel with a bigger space than Sheraton. It is ideal for a single person or couple at most, but not families
